This Nissan Leaf is an all-electric car that is refueled in my driveway with a Level 2 charger and electricity generated with solar panels from the roof of my house. It's a 2012, so it has very low miles. I keep it clean both inside and out. The Leaf seats 5. It's a hatchback, and the rear seat folds 60/40 so if you need to carry things you can. Realistic driving range on a full charge is 75 miles at freeway speed. It's perfect for running errands. And it's easy to get around to places you've never been since it has built-in Nav.
Recharging takes about 6 hours with a level 2 charger, if recharging from zero charge. Fully recharging from zero with a regular wall outlet takes about 18. Many Nissan dealerships are beginning to install fast chargers that can recharge the car 80 percent in 30 minutes. They usually have a bank of level 2 chargers also that can be used for free.
The rental was easy and smooth; sue was very accommodating and clear about how the car works. The Leaf itself is a great little car. I was pleasantly surprised by the range after hearing so much about range anxiety! It can go at least 70 miles on one charge, and I had no problems fully recharging it on my 120V outlet at home (plugged it in after work, and it was done by morning). Thanks!
A+++, It was a pleasure renting the car from Sue. She is more knowledgeable than the most Nissan dealerships. If you are planning to rent a Nissan leaf, I would highly recommend her. Reasonable price and perfect car !
First time I use Turo, and had a great experience with Sue. I had test driven a Leaf, and wasn't quite ready to take the plunge with a purchase, so decided to look for a 1-2 day EV rental. Dealerships and rental car agencies offered little or no help - which I find difficult to understand given all the EV PR we hear - so to find a private citizen willing to rent out their electric car (and at such a reasonable rate) came as a pleasant surprise. I decided not to go forward with the Leaf purchase because of the limited range but this experience will most certainly inspire me to offer my future EV as a rental (hopefully dealers will have caught on by then..)
Sue is absolutely amazing to work with / rent from. Very fast response via email and over the phone. She took the time to patiently explain the features of the Leaf. I wholeheartedly recommend Sue (and her Leaf!).
If you are considering and EV you should definitely rent one. Sue was awesome. Very helpful and understanding. She showed me how to use the vehicle as it is quite different then gasoline powered cars. There is another Leaf listed on Turo but this was the better version (SL comes with back up camera - a must) and was cheaper. If you're going to rent a leaf rent this one!
