To start, I'll say that the Infiniti is a great car to drive, and Armen seems like a nice guy when you're able to reach him. I pretty much never write reviews because I don't like the idea of people getting upset over a possibly isolated incident then broadcasting their problem, when it may just be that the cards didn't fall in their favor. That said, there were several instances throughout my trip that were completely unacceptable. I'll explain my experience, and you can interpret for yourself. I initially contacted Armen by requesting the car and writing a detailed message regarding the trip I intended to take. He approved my request almost immediately, so I thought I'd follow up and make sure he read my attached message. He hadn't, but said that he would accommodate my request nonetheless. Great, so I followed up about a pickup/dropoff schedule as he had free delivery listed for LAX due to the length of my trip (nothing specific, just free delivery listed). I didn't hear back from him on this subject, so I continued following up for over a week but never heard back. So I called. Still nothing; I sent a final message explaining that I contacted him 6 times regarding pickup and drop off, and to let me know if we were still solid for the rental. He finally responded, and said yes, then yet again said nothing about coordinating the delivery. It was frustrating because I was flying into California from Florida and had no idea how I was getting the car...until the day before my flight when he updated the trip that I would be picking the car up from the LAX Turo lot. That was fine; I was just happy to finally know how to get the car. After the scheduled pickup time, he texted and asked if everything went smoothly. That was nice...my flight had been delayed, but I had just got to the Turo lot and that process went great. DO take your own pictures of this car though; there are multiple scratches, and indication in the front that it's been in a fender bender. The car was not very clean when I picked it up (leaves/dirt on floor boards, dusty, but not a big deal). NOW onto the actual trip...the car started alerting me of a low PSI pressure in the front right tire after having drove for less than 10 miles. I was in the middle of shooting a wedding (I'm a photographer) and traveling between venues when the alert then progressed flat tire! I called Armen to see if there was something wrong with the sensor; the tire didn't look flat at all (I later learned they are run-flats so you really can't tell). Amazingly, I was able to reach him after calling! He said the sensor was probably messed up because of the rain and not to worry about it. I told him I had put air in the tire because of the low PSI alert, and he said it was good. The next morning, I was leaving LA to drive up the coast to San Fransisco, so I figured I'd have the tire checked at Firestone just in case there was actually something wrong. THERE WAS. It turned out there was a nail in the tire. The mechanic then informed me that due to previous damage of the tire (there had been another nail in the tire) that the tire couldn't be repaired. He also said the tread was way too low, and my only option was to replace the tire. This took up about half my day; sitting in a waiting room at Firestone and on hold with Turo. Turo was almost impossible to get a hold of by the way and TO THIS DAY I have never heard back from Armen. I called and texted him about what was happening, and he said NOTHING. I paid $250 to get a new tire for his car, and still have not seen the refund from Turo. This was an extremely frustrating process with no communication from Armen, and hold times that extended over an hour with Turo. Talk about ruining the day. As if that wasn't enough, the next day, in the middle of nowhere, the car battery DIED. The electronic key also dies when the car battery does, so getting a jump is a tricky process that you have to figure out. Finally after a few hours, talking to multiple random people, youtube videos, and getting two jumps, we were able to start the car. Again, Turo was no help and Armen still hadn't responded from the day before with the flat tire! Extremely disappointing communication. Extremely disappointing that two days of my trip were ruined. In the future, if the maintenance of the car is improved, and communication is improved, I think someone else's trip and transaction could potentially be fine. But clearly, my experience was pretty horrible. Take it with a grain of salt and do your due diligence before deciding to rent.
