My name is Gloria and have rented a few cars here on Turo. I am very pleased with the service and think this application and ride-sharing in between good honest people is amazing!
My past trips, I have dealt with the kindest of car owners, I guess I can say I have just been very fortunate.
Now, this unfortunate event.
My rental here with Justin was different.
To start off, I was his first "victim" I mean customer.
I needed the car just like almost everyone on here for many reasons, I had to work over the weekend and my vehicle was being used by another family member.
So I made the very bad decision of choosing this low priced - new model Hyundai from JUSTIN.
At first, I believed I was getting a deal with the mileage as well. Something else not to worry about.
I very much needed a rental, so this car that was 30 miles away from home had to do.
Now, day of the pick up.
JUSTIN let me know he would not be there to meet me at the time of pick-up. Which I figured is ok as long as pictures were taken of car and mileage was caught.
I saw no problem.
I had my 24 year old son (who introduced me to Turo and also rents frequently for the love he has of nicer vehicles), and 20 year old daughter with me.
When we picked up vehicle, I noticed that the car has over 50,XXX miles on it, and for a 2014.
I can only assume that this was used daily ever since purchase.
Car had no license plate or tags at time of pick up.
The car was not clean at all, and breaks were squeaking on way out of very narrow apartment driveway.
We all assumed that this car had just been rented out before us and owner did not have time for any upkeep.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention, if it wasn't for the gas station around the block (thanks for not mentioning the car had no gas by the way, JUSTIN.) we would have probably had to call triple AAA to fill us up.
I had the vehicle for two days, Friday morning to Sunday morning.
I used 200 out of 400 miles available. Work is not close to home.
I drive a 2011 Cadillac with just under 60,XXX miles so to have Hyundai for a couple days was nice.
Great feel to the car, very spacious, lightweight and economical.
Nothing went wrong during my trip and car was parked on secured property (work lot and gated home driveways) only.
Time of drop off.
JUSTIN was not able to meet me there again, but there's a first for everything and figured the man is busy.
I can only assume now he did not want to see me face to face, knowing he would try to pull a scheme on me.
Dropped off vehicle in same condition as when I picked up, of course I added miles and even left some gas for him.
I did not leave a review because I did not know how to leave a bad one. I wanted to be truthful, but also did not want this guy to have his first review be a bad one.
Well, turns out. He decided to NOT notify me and go straight to Turo, and handle his damage claim through them, and see how lucky he could get.
My $80 rental turned out to be $580 because Justin felt he could take advantage of this service, and get a quick dollar from it.
Well I'm sorry JUSTIN. I can almost assure you that you will not win this case when I'm done here.
You do not have any photo evidence of the car not having damage you are claiming I did before I rented it out.
I have been driving for almost 30 years with an immaculate record, no tickets, no accidents.
I would definitely apologize, and showed any accident / damage to owner and Turo if any had occurred. I would have gladly payed fee if I was at fault. But I'm sorry, no accidents, dents, marks, scratches, happened with me.
The 2 days I rent a car from someone (scam artist new here to Turo) and you are claiming I did indeed damage your vehicle.
Thank you Justin, for showing me there still are bad and negative people living here on this planet. This one being right off Echo Park in Los Angeles.
I am writing review before contacting Turo, but I am sure we will not see Justin on this service any longer.
