2015 FIAT 500eTahsir's Fiat 100% Electric Unlimited Miles! Free Charging!15511
The owner cancelled this trip 10 hours before it started. This message was automatically posted by Turo.
Before your trip, find out where all the charging stations are; Tahsir will tell you what you need to know: either use the provided key fob, or download the app; either will let you charge the car for free in 3 hours. You can also plug the car into a regular wall socket (but it takes about 13 hours to get a full charge.
Tahsir was very helpful. When my flight was delayed and I didn't get in until 2 in the morning, he found the lot attendants for Turo who were off duty and had them come and get me into the vehicle. Great service.
As for the car itself, it's very zippy and does save money on gas. The trouble I had was that I just wasn't prepared for an all-electric vehicle. I couldn't charge it overnight where I was staying (street parking) and so I had to park at Whole Foods for about 3 hours each morning to fill up on their (free) Volta 240W chargers. Even then I wasn't able to get everywhere I needed on a full charge. I couldn't access ChargePoint with Tahsir's keyfob. It was split open when I got it and it may not have the required chip anymore. I set up my own ChargePoint account, but found out that many of their stations have faulty plugs and won't charge anyway. Again Tahsir saved the day and pointed me to a Fiat dealership nearby, which was kind enough to charge me up while I went to a meeting.
The car is not for me, but the owner is a great, helpful guy -- in the end that was the most important thing.
