Didn't get the chance to meet Ms. Ekaterina, but I'm thankful to have rented from her. Available through text or message always, & provides very nice and reliable vehicles!
The car was delivered 15 minutes earlier, which was great. It was clean, had some scratches on the rims but not too bad. Runs pretty smoothly. Nothing bad I can say. The unlimited mileage is a great plus. The only downside was that someone had previously spilled a sweet drink all over the media system, so it was hard to get some of the buttons to work at first. They owner was flexible enough to pick the car up at another location. Although, was a bit late for the pick up, but that was not a biggie for me.
Great car with Bluetooth and great gas mileage for road tripping throughout California. However, another man picked us up from the airport in a black minivan, an hour after our scheduled pickup time, which was not the car that we rented and brought us to a sketchy parking garage 5-10 minutes from the airport where Ekaterina brought the car that we had rented. For being first time Turo users, this information was NEVER communicated to us and made us feel uncomfortable. In addition, the actual pickup and drop off location was scheduled for the LAX airport, not the 5-10 minute location around the airport, that again he never mentioned.
Communication was an issue throughout the trip even though he said at the begninning that he would be available if we were to ever have any questions. For example, he would reply to some questions right away while others he never responded. This occured when we had questions about paying for tolls and pop up alerts that came up on the dashboard. He did not know that he had a Fastrack account to pay for certain tolls so expect Turo to charge you for the toll because the online system will not work to individually pay for the toll online. When asking Ekaterina about the tolls, he gave us no direction on how to pay for the tolls and left the situation open ended. His communication via text was very unprofessional and confusing.
For first time Turo useser, this was a very disappointing....
Only one hiccup and that was on the pick up from the airport. Don't know if it was a communication issue or what but I ended up waiting a lil longer than expected but ekaterina fixed the issue and sent an uber to pick me up and took me to the vehicle. Other than that I was very pleased at everything drop off process was very easy and smooth as well. Thank you!
The car suddenly 'broke down' during my trip. I had parked it and it would not start again. I had to call a tow truck, when he arrives he explains to me that this is a common mistake with this vehicle (the 2015 model) The car couldn't connect to the parking brake and therefore wouldn't start.. The renter, of course, says that it is my own fault - since it happened when I had the car. Very clearly this is a mistake with the car (Google it).
Other than this:
1. The car is in my hands 2.5 hours later than the pickup time.
2. The tank is almost empty
3. The ad says the car can be dropped off elsewhere in LA, this is not the case - I have to drop the car back off at the airport. And even though the renter was 2.5 hours late on the pickup, I was told I could not deliver it later than the original time frame.
The car was wonderful! It was very new and clean and drove perfectly. The whole process was extremely smooth and it was very easy communicating with Ekaterina throughout the pick up and drop off. They even gave us a ride from the airport which was very convenient for us. Highly recommend!
