Malaka is the owner of a business with many cars in Turo, and so I did not deal directly with him but rather with middlemen. Poor communication via the app and I felt uncomfortable with side deals being offered outside of the app. As a first time user of Turo, I was disappointed in this experience and I am unsure if I will continue using this app.
My flight was delayed a couple hours from the time I was set to get picked up I tried modifying the time and Malaka didn't not change the time of arrival, something about I had to pay his drivers 50 dollars to wait and extra hour for me at the airport (lax). I couldn't not contact Malaka when I landed so I took an uber to a hotel 3 miles from the airport. I received a message from Malaka the next day that read " I am on a tight schedule I can't not deliver the car the address you sent (which was 3 miles away from Lax. )But if you change the delivery address I can meet between 8-9am or you can get it from lax" I agreed to meeting him there at lax. But when I was on the way to the airport I was advise Malaka canceled the trip and took money without reimbursing me I was shocked that someone could go back on their word and just flat out cancel the trip knowing I'm on ready for the car and have been since the following day. This horrible service I advise no one to book a trip with this guy. Also advise the owner to write that in his description when getting the car that you are not getting it directly from him but from a business he owns which you'll be charged. This is not the Turo way and then by far the worse service I've received!
