Description

Original 1967 Pontiac 400 with power steering and disc brakes. The car was a factory 4-speed car (now Tremec 5-speed). Numbers matching (except transmission), which has been tastefully upgraded to improve drivability & reliability without sacrificing period correct look. Built as a forever car! Engine/Transmission • Rebuilt by Pontiac specialist (Butler Performance) • Butler prepared Edelbrock heads, special springs (to work with cam) & port matched to Edelbrock performer aluminum manifold • Comp Cams XR roller cam, 224/232 for optimal street performance • Forged pistons, 9.5:1 compression • Edelbrock 800 CFM carb with electric choke • Ram Air (aftermarket) • MSD 6 ignition box, and MSD electronic distributor with Vacuum advance • New Griffen aluminum radiator with twin 12” electric fans • Pontiac “long branch” exhaust manifold (factory headers) flowing into 2.5” custom exhaust with twin tipped outlets and cross over • Bored out 30 over for 409” displacement • Tremec 500 5-speed with Hurst shifter Body: • Silver with black interior • “Frame off” frame off finishing, sub-frame coated with POR15 and paint to fight rust • Solid bushing • Front spoiler (period correct aftermarket addition) • Blacked out front grill • Composite headlamps for enhanced brightness, with yellow bulbs in “bright” position • Power (electric) antenna in rear for a clean look • Factory vent windows, unique to 1967 • Factory hood tachometer Suspension: • Hotchkis springs front & rear, lowered 2” • 16” wheel Vintiques 8 spoke wheels that are updated interpretation of the minilite wheels used in TransAm racing of the period • Edelbrock shocks • Z28 quick ratio steering box • Upgraded front sway bar • Factory traction bars unique to Firebird and 1967 model year Interior: • Stock black interior with factory sport gauges and console • Updated with 3 point safety belts • Autometer gauge package in the console (using the optional gauge pod from the Camaro of the same year)
