The experience was a complete nightmare. The trip started out fine. Bruno was relatively on time to deliver the car when we landed at SFO. Instead of the booked blue Ford Fusion, he gave us a red Toyota Prius with 199k miles since the Ford had some kind of "accident." For most of the week, the Prius ran fine. The problems started on the second to last day of the trip during our decent from Yosemite. On the way down, the car overheated and we broke down in a small town called Mariposa. After contacting Bruno and Turo, our only option was to stay the night in Mariposa and Bruno said he would pick us up in the morning so we can make our flight. We already had a non-refundable hotel booked near Napa for the night, but we had no way to get there so the hotel was a wasted expense. Fast forwarding to the next day, Bruno texted me at 9 am notifying me that he was in his way to Mariposa and should arrive around 12 pm (it's about 3 hours from SFO to Mariposa). Miner's Inn at Mariposa generously allowed us to check out an hour later so we could wait on Bruno. I texted Bruno at 11:53 am saying that we are at the motel's lobby and I asked him if he was close. He responded with: "No I am not there was a problem with the car that I was towing and on top of everything we need to drive really slow arrival time is 2:40." The new arrival time is 3 hours later than expected, and the worst part is that he even didn't tell me that he was running late. We needed to be at SFO around 3:30 pm for our flight and there was no way we were making it if we waited for Bruno. We eventually hired the local taxi to drive us to LAX (5 hours from Mariposa) and we caught a flight there. Due to the car breakdown, we wasted our Napa hotel and had to pay for a room in Mariposa, we missed our flight in SFO, and had to pay the taxi driver quite a bit of money to take us to LAX. Save yourself the headache and don't rent from Bruno. Also regarding Turo support, 70% of the phone time will be on hold. Horrible experience.
Bruno is a super nice guy. He was on time at SFO where he drove my friend and I to his house 10 minutes away. There we picked up our car and were on our way to wine country. Just as easy on the way back. Would rent again from him.
