Tire pressure light and check engine light was on when I picked it up with less than a half tank of gas. Most of the knobs and the coverings were either broken or not there at all. Very nice guy but was late to both pickup and drop off but he did let me leave without him being there to drop it off. There was also water sloshing around in the trunk which was pretty obnoxious considering the radio didn't work to drown it out.
Christophe was great to talk to and very fast to respond. The car was ok to drive around but it was dirty and had a lot of missing parts as the adjuster of mirror, radio, normal beams (only high worked), lights inside). The trunk was unusable because it had no flooring and had so much water in it after an afternoon of rain. I wouldn't rent it again, but if it's an emergency and you just need to drive around it works.
I have rented different cars from Christoph in the past. The cars are all in bad shape and have crumbs over the seats and dirt on the carpets. Since I only use the car to get to and from work I was fine with this pattern. He tries to be accommodating but fails to do so. The main issue is drop off. This is the second time that I had to wait at the drop off spot for over 45 minutes. I tried to text, message and call several times but no response. After a long time he texted me to leave car and lock the key inside.
Christophe is the BEST to rent from, super attentive and super reachable! Loved him!! The car made me slightly nervous because I'm a paranoid person but he would text me back making sure I was ok!! RENT FROM CHRISTOPHE! I have never felt as safe as I have with him and his response time!!
The car is in bad condition. Almost all the knobs are broken in the car. The radio also does not work which was very disheartening during my road trip to see family. I texted Christophe to inform him as soon as I realized and he never responded. He did not contact me until the day of the return to claim he had food poisoning and his friend had to pick up the car. His friend called saying he would be late since he was picking up another car at the same time. The guy I talked to was not the guy who drove the car away. Overall this was a horrible experience. I was afraid the car was going to break down since everything kept falling apart. Im suprised it was even rentable. This car really put a damper on my trip.
Christophe is a nice guy and came through for me when others did not. That car is about as basic as it gets, but it got me to San Diego and back without issues. I would rent from Christophe again. He also has other cars.
Christophe does a great job of making sure that you are able to pick up and return the car as easy as possible. The car itself is an A to B vehicle. No radio. No internal lights. No manual doors or windows. So, if you are looking for good customer service, but the absolutely bare minimum when it comes to a ride, then I would recommend this Kia. I would also recommend renting from Christophe's other many available vehicles.
I never actually met Christophe, his dad exchanged the car with us because he was out of town. His dad was nice though. The car was fine, drove perfect in LA for a week, both in traffic and on the open road. Only used 1 tank of gas in a week.
4/5 stars because of two reasons:
1) the LAX pickup was kind of a struggle for us, I think Turo's directions on how to do an airport pickup are out of date/not relevant, and we were waiting for a shuttle for awhile but then found out Christophe's dad was just going to bring us the car. I wish we had clarified that more beforehand with Christophe, just since we were in an unfamiliar place, but it ended up being no biggie.
2) The radio/CD/aux/etc didn't work, no sound at all. Kind of a bummer because then I had to sing songs while driving, and I'm terrible at singing. But the A/C worked, which is much more important in CA.
