You found it. A speedy little convertible, supercharged for your pleasure. Putting out around 200HP at around 2200 lbs, flying doesn't seem so impossible anymore. A platinum-grade sound system invites the choir angels to serenade you as you drive along the coastline. Drop the top and you are now one with nature.
Can't pick you up from the airport, but I can pick you up from Union Station if I get a little something extra.
2002 Mazda MX-5 MiataDavid's Miata1551
I've been thinking of getting a Miata since I'm a car guy in school, but don't have the money to afford gas for something like a Camaro. I've never driven one, so I wanted to give one a test drive. I found this one, and HOLY CRAP it was fun. Not all Miatas are supercharged like this one (hardly any, in fact), but everything about this car was great. Obviously, it's used and the age shows a bit in the interior, but it didn't take away from the experience. This little thing moves. It was the first time in a while that I got to drive a manual transmission and it was the best way to bring me back to it; clutch grabs right from the bottom and the shifter is nice and clicky—the super-light gas pedal threw me off a bit because I'm used to the heavier one in my Civic, but I got used to it quickly. This car EATS curves, and it lets you know where you're at on the road. Communication is clearly this car's first priority. David was great as well; he was definitely enthusiastic about the car and showed he had an attachment the the car like most Miata owners do. He was punctual and never kept me waiting (if anything, I kept him waiting for a few minutes...I'll explain below) and he was very nice. Overall, great experience. This was a first for me on this website, and I was his car's first renter—so a great first experience. Highly recommend this car.
Some things to let you know, though:
I got confused about the gas cap—it's opened by a lever on the inside of the armrest and the design of the tank opening makes the gas pump keep clicking off. That's how I kept him waiting for a few minutes. Lol. ALSO, this car requires premium because of the supercharger. Don't put in anything less than 91 because bad things will happen...like blowing holes in the pistons.
