Carlos is very accommodating and was always willing to be flexible with pick ups, drop offs and anything else that came up! What a great experience with Carlos :)
First for the good. Carlos was right on time at the Phoenix Airport and the drop off was easy and smooth. During our trip we had to communicate with Carlos about a few minor things and he was available and eager to help.
Now for the bad. During our trip we had a blowout. While dealing with Carlos was fine (at first) dealing with Turo's customer service department was awful. I chose the roadside emergency selection and was on hold for over 10 minutes waiting for someone to pick up. Once someone finally answered they were poorly trained and unaware of what to do. I got transferred from person to person and from department to department and each customer service agent seemed worse than the last. Finally I was told to wait for a call from Turo's roadside emergency specialist (or something like that) After waiting several more minutes for a call back the phone finally rang and thankfully someone that knew what to do was on the line! He told me that he didn't work for Turo but for a company they contracted with to handle roadside emergencies. The person from the non Turo company sized up the situation and had a wrecker to my car in less than 30 minutes. At least Turo contracts with good companies! Bottom line though is that it took their roadside emergency department over and hour to finally get me to someone that had a clue and once I got with that person we had help quickly.
The wrecker company was also outstanding. They did immediately tell me that 3 of the 4 tires on the car Carlos rented me were in very bad shape. We later learned that the spare was in even worse shape. The spare was in such bad shape that we had to backtrack to Flagstaff and rent another car from Enterprise. Carlos's car was simply too unsafe. This cost us 5 hours and $290.
This is where Carlos changed. Over the next few days I sent Carlos pictures of the blown tire and the worn condition it was in. Without going into all the details he started stalling about getting me a refund for the expense of having to get a new rental since his car couldn't do the job. Turo's customer service reps told me Carlos was the only one that could approve a refund and all he would approve was a tiny refund for they days we didn't even use his car. No consideration at all for the fact he sent us out in an unsafe car.
I can't comment on how Carlos treats his other customers but I can comment on how he treated me. He sent me out in a car with bad tires. When one of the tires blew he gave me every lame excuse in the world as to why he couldn't approve a refund. He simply didn't want to do what was right and fair.
I wouldn't recommend using Turo nor would I recommend ever renting from Carlos. speaking from my experience only... the former is incompetent and the latter dishonest.
