Jocelyn was so great! I have never used Turo before but the whole process was very smooth from beginning to end. The jeep was in great shape and was so much fun to drive! I am definitely going to recommend Jocelyn’s jeep to any friends/family who need to rent while visiting.

Jocelyn was extremely responsive and the exterior of the car was exactly as pictured, however upon check-in the car was extremely dirty - sand on the seats and mats, dust layer on the steering wheel and dashboard, dirt in the back seat.... extremely concerning especially during COVID.. It was so bad that we had to get our own cleaning wipes to wipe down the steering wheel/dashboard before driving it. It was also unfortunate especially since Jocelyn’s profile calls out the extra precautions she takes with disinfecting and cleaning. Jocelyn mentioned she was out of town and left the job to her roommate, however she didn’t take responsibility for the poor (and unacceptable) check in experience, and instead was worried about whether I was going to return the car earlier since I was unhappy and if so, to let her know so she could have her roommate pick up the key.

This is a classic case of “you can’t please everyone.” I always take proper precautions of cleaning my vehicle, but it’s also important to note that this is a Jeep where riders often go off-roading and/or bring the vehicle to the beach, so there will sometimes be some sand leftover in the car no matter how much you have it cleaned. As for the “dust layer” on the dashboard, I reviewed check-in pictures beforehand and this is simply false. Luckily my 180+ other 5 star reviews speak for themselves.

Terrible first experience using Turo due to a simple problem made much more difficult by the owner and Turo. Trip started out fine with her communication and pick up for the vehicle. Long story short got stranded for hours with a flat tire from traveling on a bald tire and inability to use the spare (locking nut on tire and owner had no key for it). Owner did not help at all due to being out of town (totally get- not my issue with her). Buuuut I was unable to use roadside assistance from Turo without her permission. So, due to a lack of preparation for emergencies by the owner I was forced to pay 300.00 for a mechanic to fix a flat tire by removing the locking bolt and inflating the spare tire for use. Super shitty way to spend a day celebrating my birthday but hey lessoned learned (look at the tires and take detailed pictures of everything before checking in a rental vehicle on Turo…. Also kinda sucked that the owner never called or checked in on the situation until right before it was time for me to return. Just FYI I don’t leave bad reviews at all on any platform, life happens…. and understand that a flat tire should be my responsibility whether it was an accident or not. Just really sucked that I had no help and I tried to do the right thing by NOT leaving the car there for the owner to take care of and I still ended up paying out of my pocket.
