Remember that this car is RIDICULOUSLY FAST! Have fun, but please be safe and responsible if you choose to test the limits of this car! Also remember (Turo rules as well as mine): you may not use this car on a track or any way other than “normal” street driving. NO smoking and NO pets in the car. Absolutely NO off-roading (including Bonneville Salt Flats)! Please be courteous and do not do anything that will introduce strong odors or lots of hair / dirt. Please do not have sharp objects in your pockets or clipped to your belt. There are all-weather floor mats to help keep the carpet clean, BUT PLEASE be considerate and minimize the amount of dirt / sand / mud you bring into the car! *CURB RASH* AVOID THE CURBS! Curb rash is a very real thing with Teslas! Please avoid curbs at all costs (wheel rims and repairs are EXPENSIVE). If you do somehow encounter an issue, please let me know up front, and feel free to contribute to the repair / replacement fund. If you damage the wheel, please volunteer to pay $15/inch of curb rash that you think you may have caused, and I will get them repaired when possible. I will try my best to let you know before your rental and to point out the curb rash that may already be present. Trip photos should show the extent that existed beforehand. I'm not trying to "ding" anyone, but repairing these wheels to keep them nice for everyone is not trivial. Thanks in advance for avoiding the curbs! (This is for simple curb rash only - more extensive damage to wheels will have to be addressed on a case-by-case basis.) *RECHARGING* This car does NOT have free recharging. I have included "EV Recharging" as an extra for those of you who think you may be returning the car under 50% charged, or for those of you who just don't want to worry about it. See the FAQs for more about recharging. *WASHING* Please do NOT use a carwash with BRUSHES! You don't usually need to wash the car at all, but if you feel compelled, PLEASE be sure to use a "brushless" or "touchless" carwash. Do NOT use that foaming brush thing! I appreciate your help and understanding, since I'm trying to make this experience as amazing as possible for each guest! *NOTE* You CAN use any Tesla Supercharger while you're using my car without needing to use a credit card or downloading / installing anything on your phone; charging is NOT FREE however! Please keep in mind that Tesla could also charge an "idle fee" of 50 cents / minute if you do not move the car very soon after charging is complete (and $1/min if the chargers are full). If you DO incur any supercharging and / or idle fees, I will simply request reimbursement from you for that amount (Turo currently doesn't charge anything extra for this request!). Thanks for your understanding.

• Does your Model Y have free Supercharging?

  No and Yes. Tesla has discontinued free supercharging on new cars and I'm sure there will be a bit of a learning curve regarding how best to handle battery charges and fees. For now, if you want free, unlimited supercharging, you'll need to add the Unlimited Miles Extra, otherwise, any fees associated with charging will be requested from you at the end of the rental.

• I just want to test drive the Model Y. Can I rent your Model Y for an hour or shorter part of a day?

  Unfortunately, Turo has no real option for hourly rentals and charges a full day for any rental period less than a day. That said, if you rent one of my cars and let me know you'd like to see / try / test multiple cars, I think we could work out a discount on other models.

• Can I leave my car at your house somewhere while I'm using your car?

  Sure thing! There are several nearby places to park, including plenty of street parking. If you need something more secure, please ask me in advance and I'll see what I can arrange!

• Does your Performance Model Y have "smart summon" and can I try it out?

  Yes and no. This car IS equipped with FSD and smart summon, but using it requires that I give you access to the Tesla phone app, which I will do on a case-by-case basis. Please mention that you're interested and we can work it out.

• Does your Model Y have FSD Beta and can I test it out?

  This car DOES have FSD capabilities, but does NOT have FSD Beta firmware! PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST IT FROM TESLA FOR ME! Since FSD Beta is linked to my own account and driving statistics, any issues you might have would affect MY score and ability to try it out later. You are welcome to test out the "enhanced" Autopilot features included with the FSD package (like summons, Navigate on Autopilot, and lane changes), but please PLEASE do not request FSD Beta to be activated on my behalf.

• Do you have any other cars available on Turo?

  Insanely, I have FIVE others already on TURO, as well as a few more on the way, including: a CyberTruck (who knows when), a Rivian R1S SUV as well as a GMC Hummer eV. • Can you deliver to my house if it's more than 15 miles away?

  Turo does not really let me bill "by the mile" for special deliveries, but if you would like me to deliver my car to you outside of the normal delivery zone, please let me know well in advance and we can probably work something out! (I'll basically need to get at least as much as Uber will be charging me to get out and back, if not also some compensation for time, depending on how far away we're talking.)

• Do I have to fully recharge your car before returning it?

  I will deliver the car to you with somewhere between 80% and 90% charge, depending on the delivery location and circumstances. You have several options regarding the return battery level: 1) return it with no extra fee by ensuring it has over 75% charge; 2) if you run out of time before returning it, don't worry - I can just request a reimbursement through Turo for the appropriate battery level, which currently says $20 for battery between 50% and 75% and $30 for a battery under 50%; 3) opt for the "EV Recharge Extra" which prepays me to compensate both for my time AND INCLUDES the cost of supercharging. For reference, a full charge during normal working hours from "empty" would run about $40 for supercharger fees and take about 1 hour of my time.

• Are there discounts available for longer trips?

  Absolutely! 3 days gets you 10% off; a week or more is 20% off; and if you're REALLY going crazy, you get 30% off for a month!

• Do you offer free unlimited miles?

  Not on this car, primarily because mileage depreciation is still a major factor. HOWEVER, my 2018 M3 and 2018 MX both have unlimited free miles and free supercharging! Knock yourself out!

• I've never driven a Tesla / an eV before. Is there any way you could meet up with me in person to get me started?

  Absolutely! PLEASE! If you have any hesitations, please let me know what you feel uncomfortable with, and I'd be more than happy to either meet you in person (if possible) or help you via a call (if that's seems sufficient or we're not able to arrange a meeting)!
