The Explorer worked out fine for our trip but we had a few issues. Everything started out great since it was delivered to us right on time which was nice. The passenger compartment was clean and there were charging cables already plugged in which saved us some hassle so those things were great too. When I opened the hatch to load up our bags I discovered the cargo area was full of dog hair which was disappointing but not a huge deal. When we arrived at our destination we realized the registration tags on the license plate were expired by several months. We didn’t have any issues but it was a little nerve wracking to be driving around with expired tags. When we were about to depart on the last part of our trip I went out to start the car and the battery was dead. We were able to get a jump start and make it home but the excessive corrosion on one of the battery terminals gave me the impression that the battery might be old and overdue for replacement. I don’t think we left any lights on or anything else that could have drained the battery so I think it might have just been old. The last thing I’ll mention is that the dash was displaying a message that the car was overdue for an oil change. There was also a maintenance sticker on the windshield that also indicated the car was quite a bit overdue for an oil change. Those things along with the battery issue gives me the impression that the maintenance may not have been kept up with on this vehicle. Everything worked out fine with this rental in the end and the Explorer was a nice vehicle to drive but we were a little disappointed with the issues we experienced. When the battery died we were lucky we were somewhere we could get a jump start easily, otherwise it could have have been a huge hassle considering we were traveling with our 14 month old son.

Specifically reserved this car because planning on buying a goes explorer and wanted to test one out, had a great experience. No issues with the car, check out was a little confusing but all went well.
