First of all, I want to just say that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the car I rented, it was very nice and clean and exactly as described. The company I rented it from did a good job of communication. Mostly, I was disappointed with my experience using Turo in general. After the fees were added on (I did end up getting the base level insurance because I wasn’t sure if my insurance would cover a rental from Turo) the cost was as much or more than the rental companies I looked into. The parking ticket leaving the economy parking lot was more than I was told it would be. I was asked to take the car through a car wash and leave it as spic and span as I got it. This added additional time on and we were already pressed for time. Granted, I understand this is common procedure with Turo cars. But it’s kind of nice to return a rental car and not need to worry about cleaning it first because they do that. This was only an issue with my particular pick up/drop off, but the economy lot for Orlando is a bit out there and the shuttles don’t run very frequently so we had a long wait for a shuttle. All in all it was pretty stressful and didn’t give me the best first impression of Turo. I would probably only consider using the service again if I’m wanting to rent a specific car to try out before buying, or for fun.
