couple things happened: 1. hosts locking device didn’t work when i returned the car and they had me looking for another one of their cars on a dark road at night to put the keys in. i repeatedly said i had to leave and it was time sensitive but they insisted i do it for them. unprofessional and lazy imo. 2. there was dirt on the mud guards/floorboards, scuff marks on the bottom of the doorways, and some sand in the seat — all from regular use — but the host requested a $50 cleaning charge. i disputed, lost by the decision of turo, but fought some more and got a refund. turo paid; host and i both got our money we believed we deserved. i feel like since the host uses turo with multiple cars, bringing them revenue, turo sided with them. just know you have to return it EXACTLY like you picked it up, or you risk getting slapped with a detailing fee for normal use (getting in and out). one star down from the host, one star down from turo. if it rains or you go to the beach, rent somewhere else that won’t go after you for cleaning fees.
