This car is fast and fun, and Kauai’s power grid is nearly 70% powered by renewable energy including solar, hydropower, and biomass. The 270-mile range at 90% is more than enough to travel the entire island, including trips up Waimea Canyon or to the end of the road on the North Shore. There are no super chargers or other level 3 chargers on Kauai, but there are numerous level 2 chargers. If you are concerned about charging an electric car on Kaua’i, note that we can provide tips for utilizing the charging opportunities throughout the island. If the car is returned at a charge level more than 10% difference than the charge level at the beginning of the trip, there will be a recharging fee, per Turo policies. The maximum recharging fee is $30, unless the car is returned with less than 20% battery level. Details in the FAQ. We offer complementary delivery for trips that start and end at Lihue Airport, using Turo's convenient shuttle (see more information below). In addition, our vehicles are great for visitors who are staying in the Poipu area, Kauai's largest resort area. Don't bother dealing with a rental car at the airport: Take a shuttle, Lyft/Uber, or taxi between the airport and your lodging on the south side, and book our truck for deliver to your resort, hotel, house, or condo. When making your reservation, select one of the Poipu area resorts or select "guest's location" and enter your rental house or condo address, anywhere within the Poipu or Koloa area. For a small $20 fee, the vehicle will be at your doorstep. One-way trips between multiple locations including the airport are also possible.
