Description

Fully Loaded, dependable AWD (with rooftop tent) available. Rent my 2017 Subaru Forester Touring model for your Alaskan adventure. Heated front Leather seats and steering wheel. Plenty of room for four to five people in the car. The tent can hold two adults and a smaller kid. Tent measures 56" x 96" when set-up. Sheets and pillows can be included in extras. The set-up gives great piece of mind when in bear country. Do you really want to be on the ground? Most people like to use a tent for a few days and get a cabin or hotel for a few days. September is great to catch the northern lights right through the tent skylights... 9.7 inches of ground clearance to get you to a campsite. The LED headlights are very bright and the Harmon Kardon sound system is impressive. The car still gets 24 to 30 mpg with AC on full blast (which you may not need in Alaska) I have other camping items available to make your adventure more safe and memorable. If you need any help with recommendations and gear I am available. The color of the car is bronze. Cleaning and disinfecting the car and the tent ensures safety between my customers. With the Subaru, tent, and camping supplies you can have a great vacation in Alaska. This rental will come with a can of bear spray for your protection. (usually costs $39 at a local store)

Guidelines

The Subaru is great to find campsites, but not through deep mud or water over 12"deep. Return the Subaru in as good condition as received. (scrub the bugs clean off the car and tent) No smoking in the car or the tent. Keep up good communication for pick up and drop off. Down on the Kenai Peninsula I recommend Millers Landing as a good spot to set up and go Kayaking & in Homer there is beach camping on the spit. Anglers with licenses, head to the beautiful Russian River. Towards Valdez at Thompson Pass there is a sweet free spot (bring your own wood) off to the right with a billion dollar view. Snow present until August.... The car can easily go to McCarthy (Kennicot Mine) or Chena Hot Springs (Fairbanks), just be careful of pot holes. If there is a cone to the side or sides of a road, sometimes that means there is a "frost heave". This is a road feature you DO NOT want to hit at speed. Slow down to avoid injury, damage, and a serious interruption of your trip. Don't let fish or animal remains leak in the car! Although the tent is elevated, do not store food in the tent overnight. Do take your can of bear spray. (Although you shouldn't need it.) If the weather is good, Kesugi- Ken campground towards Denali National Park is great and the hike up the ridge is amazing with spectacular views of Denali and hundreds of acres of blueberries in August and September.

Faqs

  • Does the roof top tent come with the car? What If I need another tent?

The roof top tent comes with the car. Most people use it for a day or two in one spot before moving to another area. If your party is larger than two people, or want to backpack, I have more car-camping, & backpacking/ mountaineering tents too.

  • Is the tent easy to set up? Is it Comfortable?

Compared to building a cabin or emergency shelter the set up is easy. I will send you a 3 minute video of a crazy 7 foot tall guy setting up the tent. It takes about 10 minutes to setup with bedding. It is more difficult than setting up most dome style tents, but much more comfortable, especially with linens, pillows, and blankets. The mattress is a great quality 2.5" moderately firm foam pad with cover. Air flow is really good in the tent with many venting options. There are even mesh skylights.

Benjamin was very friendly and helpful, It was my first Turo experience and he made it very simple. First picking up the car was easy and straightforward, second he gave us advices on where to do groceries and eat in Anchorage, and by the way the pizzas were amazing. Third, about the car, it's really an amazing vehicle, highly dependable and the rooftop tent is just ridiculously good. Great experience, Thank you,
