⚠️🚭🚭🚭NO SMOKING! 🚭🚭🚭⚠️ *Please no smoking in the vehicle - failure to do so will result in you paying $250.00 for smoke removal please return the vehicle with the charger and phone holder. We are very flexible with extensions, request your extension through the Turo app and we will approve it if the car is available. We ask that you familiarize yourself with and follow all Turo policies and procedures. Please use the car as if it were your own— this is not a truck , hard brake, speed, rev the engine at or near its limits or other engage in other activities that might damage the vehicle. Return the vehicle with the gas at the same level as when your rental started. If you don’t refill the tank, we will purchase the gas and charge the amount plus there is a service fee also through Turo. Return the vehicle at or before the time on your reservation. Late returns will be charged according to Turo policies. Only those drivers listed on the reservation may operate the vehicle. Never leave the vehicle unattended with keys inside or unattended while running. Return the vehicle within the mileage limitations. Extra miles will be charged at the rate shown on your reservation. In the unlikely event of a breakdown or an accident, please call Turo roadside assistance, and then send us a message on Turo app. The vehicle registration, insurance, and emergency numbers are in the glove box. 🚨 We answer all calls between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. Monday through Sunday

My experience with the host was nothing short of a disaster, and not because their vehicle had mechanical issues less than 2 hrs after getting it. Problems arise, that's what insurance is for. My issue was with the attitude from the host. She made a bad situation 10 times worse! From the beginning, there were issues. I booked this rental months out (in December 2023) for a planned trip with my family in May 2024. This rental company moved to another location and failed to mention it to me. I found out as I'm sitting at the address provided to me from the website, but there was no sign of the rental car or company. I called and was told by the host that they moved to another location months ago and I was provided the address to the new location to pick up the van. When I arrived at the site to pick up the van at 10am, the hosts weren't there to greet me, and I had to wait until a family member (I assume) called the host to provide me with a code to the lock box on the vehicle that contained the key to the van. One of the hosts (the husband) arrived as I was struggling to enter the code to the lock box.
The car started without issue, I picked up my family and made it to Clinton, SC (less than 1 hr 20 min away) to grab snacks and a bite to eat. Upon receiving my food, I stayed at that location to eat. The van began to sputter as if losing power, then cut off. I attempted to start the van again, but it wouldn't start. I called Corey, one of the hosts listed on Turo, and he told me to "contact his wife because he provided more of the maintenance while his wife handled things like this." This is where the problems truly started, and I realized this was not a company anyone should deal with. I called the wife to make her aware of the issue with the van. She provided zero empathy but made sure I was aware that when the previous renter of the van returned it, there were no issues. She went on to tell me that the previous renter always cleans the vehicle and would have made her aware of an issue with the van. I stated, "Maybe that's the case, but the vehicle isn't starting now, and all I did was drive in over an hour away, and it cut off." Her attitude completely changed. With an attitude, she stated that she wasn't saying that I did something to the van; problems can happen to vehicles. I told her I understood that, but where do we go from here, because I'm stuck, and the van won't start. She told me she didn't have any other vehicle that could carry 6 people and luggage. She told me to try to find another vehicle on Turo, that an exchange would take place. She then told me she would call me back.
As I'm sitting there, unsure of what to do, and thinking I was going to miss a days vacation, someone came up and offered to jump the van. The van started. At that time, I attempted to call the host back. She didn't answer. I called her husband. He didn't answer but did call me back. By the time he called back, the van had shut off again, so I caught him up with the events of my experience with the van. He said it sounded like the starter and told me to call his wife for her to get me another vehicle. I told him I did call, but she hasn't returned my call yet. I told him that she stated earlier, they didn't have another vehicle to carry 6 people and luggage. He told me everything would be alright, remain calm, they will get everything taken care of. Over an hour went by, I hadn't heard anything from either host, so I called the wife back twice to find out what was going on and to let her know there was no other vehicle available on Turo. She didn't answer.
As I'm searching online for other vehicles from different companies to get me to my destination, the host finally returned my call, an hour later, approximately 2pm. Again, I picked up the van around 1030am, so I'm sitting without transportation and can't reach the host until she decides to return my calls. I asked her was I to leave the key inside the vehicle. She responded, "I already told you to leave it in the lock box." At this point I'm truly tired of her snide remarks and attitude. She acted as if my vehicle stopped on her, and I was the unhelpful host. I responded I obviously didn't hear you and asked her why does she have an attitude when I'm the one who was stranded without being offered another vehicle. She hung up my face. I heard nothing back from her after that. I received a notification from a tow company with a ETA of 75 mins at approximately 3:50. The host didn't contact me to let me know a tow was ordered. At 5:40pm, the town company called me to let me know he would arrive in 50 mins.
This is, by far, the worst host/business transaction I have ever dealt with!! Word of advice for the host, if you're not going to approve your people skills or work on your tone/attitude, you should really think of having your husband handle all transactions where issues arise. He has a calming energy, which is sizzled out by yours, and it will only harm your business
