This was my first Turo rental - recommended by my employer. My reservation was made at the last minute, the night before and was for business. The car listed (2018 Honda Civic) was actually not available. Neither were the drop off and pickup services requested in the reservation. Having to pickup and drop off the car myself and getting a different car than was listed (2020 Toyota Carolla) created a much more complex experience for me. Since it was last minute, I didn’t really have a choice. I had to be to work first thing the following morning. When I picked up the car, there was damage caused by a previous renter, the service light was on and it was in an alternate location. I was already late for work, so again, had no other options in the moment. Perhaps, these are normal Turo occurrences, but I had no idea if they were or not and stressed about it ALL throughout my rental - mostly because the car the app showed me as renting was not the car I in fact had. In the end, everything seemed to work out fine. I returned the car, exhaled and haven’t seen any additional, unwarranted charges on the receipt/bill listed in the app. I suppose with the last minute reservation, I should just be grateful accommodations were able to be made. I’m not certain if I’ll try Turo again, but I’m not completely opposed to giving it another shot.
