The day after I booked this vehicle, I went on a trip with my family give or take 2 hours away to Sacramento. Upon leaving the trip, I had left the hazard lights on for a moment while packing up my kid's and belongings. Unfortunately when we attempted to leave and turn the engine on, it seemed to not start. This was the start of what turned into a very traumatic, cold and helpless 48 hours for my children and I. I understand that things happen and I assumed that everything was going to be okay. First thought was to call my AAA service for a jump. Once they arrived and attempted the jump, the car started but the headlights were still dim, the windows were very slowly rolling up and there were lights still flickering inside of the vehicle. After doing a test drive around the block, I put the vehicle back to Park and it died again. AAA tow man and I both agreed that it probably wasn't safe driving back home, especially since it was like 8pm and it was already dark outside. Never being in this situation before I assumed I should call and let the host know what was going on and his response was very little to none. He even suggested to take battery ro Aitozome. He kept it very short and pretty much said that this has never happened to him before and doesn't know what I should do. AAA tow suggested I should take the vehicle to mechanic but it was already too late for a shop. I attempted to call Turo for advice and help but relaized that the very few departments that they have with an actual phone line were not opened until 6am. Because I didn't have to return the vehicle until 3pm the next day, I decided to stay overnight in Sacramento with my family to better assess the situation in the morning. The next day, I finally spoke to a Turo agent and was told because my I had insurance applied that Turo would help me find a replacement vehicle and will tow the current vehicle back to host, they them directed me to a chatline. From there I was directed to another chatline and for the next about 8 hours hours, I was being sent from department to department which were all through chatlines. It wasn't until the many hours later I realized that Turo or the host were no help to my situation. It was cold and getting dark again and the only thing I was offered was a $50 refund for UBER/LYFT purposes only and must send a receipt to prove it was used towards Uber/Lyft. The host wanted little to do with me. He kept suggesting that I should just attempt to turn the car back on drive it back. After I told him that I was not going to put my family in that dangerous risk, he then told me To contact road assistance to get the vehicle towed. I did what he instructed and requested the vehicle to be towed via roadside assistance. I was stranded with my kids in the cold, 2 hours away from home and had to call a relative back home to come pick me and my kids up. By the time they got to us about 3 hours later, the tow truck still hasnt arrived but my kids were very cold and hungry. I called roadside assistance again and they told me that if I should I go and take care my kids and to just leave the keys in vehicle and that I do not need to present for the vehicle to be towed. So again, I did what was instructed. The following day, I received a message from the host stating that the vehicle's return is now long overdue and that they are going to report it stolen because it has not yet returned to host location. I then found myself again calling and chatting with Turo agents and roadside assistance trying to figure out what happened. One of the Turo agents said that it turns out someone on the roadside assistance end "canceled tow request by accident ". It seemed that only I was being alerted about the tow and not the host so I asked roadside assistance to please let the host know what was going on, which surprisingly something they somt usually do. After providing them the host contact, they dod what I was asked. The turo agent on the other hand that I was chatting with blantally told me that regardless what I had been going through, "it all became a bad situation because I abandoned the vehicle". The agent then ended the chat while I was still asking questions.
