I love my rental from Martin. It's was very clean and it drove well. He explained and answered any questions that I had and I will definitely be renting from him again.

Upon first glance from the pictures and described vehicle you’d be more than excited to get in this gorgeous Tesla! Once you book it and get inside, totally different feeling. For starters there is a very foul odor in the car that seems to come from the air vents. The car is listed as a “full self driving vehicle” which it is indeed!! BUT, the owner will give you the key knowing he has blocked autopilot, full self driving AND put a speed limiter on the vehicle without telling you. When I tell you that it is DANGEROUS to have someone limited to a speed driving down mountains where everyone around you doesn’t have a limit on how fast their vehicles will roll down parkways hills (including 18 wheelers) and MAY HIT YOU. I don’t know about the next person, but when I see a Tesla that has all the bells and whistles for rent and you can’t ring or touch anything of them it ruins the experience for the customers truth be told and then to have that disappointment on top of a foul smelling vehicle? Not ideal whatsoever. I bought and used 3 brand new air fresheners for 4 days of renting and it still wasn’t enough to cover the smell. I had to manually turn on self driving and I couldn’t fix the speed limit which almost caused 2 accidents during my use due to the fact that I couldn’t get out of other peoples ways fast enough. Also I did scratch the rim slightly but I knew it was small enough to be covered by the wear and tear policy which is NOT paid for by guests and the host is covered with insurance for wear and tear but he wanted to force me to pay the expense out of pocket although he knew it would be a covered claim. Of course I didn’t pay, I forced him to submit a claim for someone to go out and check on the damage for me as I have worked in insurance for 5 yrs now and I know how some people can be. I forgot my second companies sweatshirt in the vehicle too and he told me His time is too valuable for him to take it to the post office and mail it out. I would’ve paid for that consideration the sentimental value to the brand I had just started. I warn you all, beware. This host is very rude, not the best. But I do recommend looking into Tesla for yourself!!

Martin's response

I have 2 nice cars on Turo with 100+ 5 star reviews. So take it for what it's worth. - There was no smell when he picked up the car. - He curbed my wheel, never told me about it. - Forgot his sweater in the trunk, was 5 min from my house but didn't want to come back for it, and wanted me to go to post office to mail it. - And yes I limit the speed on the car to 85. Which is more than enough in CT/NY/MA area. Going 20 over speed limit gets you arrested for reckless driving, and my car towed.
