2010 Lincoln MKZ is the luxury brand's bread-and-butter offering and is positioned to do battle in the hotly-contested entry-luxury sedan segment -- home to such stalwarts as the BMW 3 Series and Lexus ES. While MKZ clearly has its work cut out for it, the sedan is developing a reputation as a solid offering in the segment. The MKZ is based on the same front-drive platform as the Ford Fusion. Given that the Fusion was dubbed the 2010 Motor Trend Car of the Year, the MKZ has some good bones to build upon. The Fusion underpinnings mean that while the MKZ won't be chasing down a 3 Series up a mountain road, it's not exactly a slouch, either. Its 3.5-liter V-6 and six-speed automatic are a solid powertrain combination, and a hybrid option is on the way.
