General Requirements Renter must have a current, valid U.S. or State, or international driver’s license. Renter must be at least 21 years of age. Renter agrees not to allow anyone other than themselves or other authorized renters under their rental agreement to operate their rental slingshot. We rent Slingshots by reservation only: You must complete a reservation online or over the phone in order to secure your Alabama Slingshot rental. Under no circumstances will we cancel another customer’s reservation in order to accommodate your reservation, regardless of the number of vehicles rented or duration of the rental. We want you to enjoy the full experience of the Slingshot. Be safe, be caring, and have fun! OUR #1 Rule: NO burnouts or donuts will be tolerated. We take note of the tire thread counts and will bill you for a new tire if there are any signs of such action. Insurance Requirements State mandated minimum liability insurance from our insurance provider Insurance is required for your rental and will be added during checkout. If the renter chooses to not use our insurance the rental must be covered under the renters insurance and proof of insurance must be presented at time of booking. Medical or bodily injury insurance is not provided and is the responsibility of the customer. If for any reason our Slingshot gets damaged, the amount needed for the repair will be filed in an insurance claim and the renter will be responsible for paying the deductible. In the event of the Slingshot being damaged or totaled the Insurance claim will include loss wages payable to Birmingham Slingshot Rentals. All coverage and waivers are subject to the terms and conditions of the rental contract and do not include coverage for property, personal or otherwise, or damage as a result of negligence on the part of the renter or passenger for any illegal use of the autocycle or its use under the influence of drugs or alcohol. If you are ill, or sick, or on any prescription or over the counter medication you cannot operate our Slingshots. Keep in mind you are responsible for the operation of your rental Slingshot.

• What are your rental requirements?

  Our Slingshots are available to renters 21 and older with a valid drivers license. All renters are required to sign our liability waiver, rental agreement and watch a quick instructional video about the operations of the Slingshot.

• Is a helmet required to rent a Slingshot?

  Yes. Alabama is one of 19 states with a universal helmet law, which requires anyone riding or operating an autocycle or motorcycle to wear protective headgear. One helmet is included in the rental price. Any additional passengers can rent a helmet for an additional $15 per rental. (Multiple day rentals are only one $15 rental fee)

• Do I need a motorcycle license to drive a Slingshot?

  No motorcycle license required! All you need is a valid driver’s license. The Slingshot is classified as an Auto-Cycle, so no special license is needed in Alabama.

• How many miles can I drive without being charged an extra fee?

  250 free miles , .75 cents each additional mile.

• What happens if there is damage when I return the Slingshot?

  We come across a lot of minor scuffs and scrapes on our cars when they go out on rentals – sometimes customers scrape a wheel, scratch a front bumper or bubble a tire. These repairs are quick and relatively inexpensive to make and are billed from the insurance that you opted into during your rental.

• Insurance Requirements

  All of our rentals require the renter to select either Minimum, Standard or Premiere coverage during checkout. This allows the Slingshot to be covered in the event of an accident or any damage. The renter will see in detail the price and coverage associated with each plan and make a selection during checkout. In the event of an accident, the deductible chose by the renter will be settled to file a claim on the Slingshot. In the event of the Slingshot being damaged or totaled the Insurance claim will include loss wages payable to Birmingham Slingshot Rentals. INSURANCE IS REQUIRED.

• Do you offer rentals for a couple of hours?

  No, we only rent our Slingshots for full days. We do have options available for photoshoot session that do not include the renter driving the Slingshot. Please contact for more details. [Number redacted for privacy and security]

• Do I need to fill the gas tank up before returning the Slinsgshot?

  Yes. Please fill using only Premium unleaded (93) as these are fine-tuned machines that provide over 200 horsepower, and we don’t want to see that degraded by low grade fuels. We rent every rental with a full tank of gas
