Horrible host. Rude and completely inflexible. I rent cars through this app many times throughout the year, this was my first time being late for a dropoff. I gave the host a headsup that we will be 2 hours and 15 minutes late dropping the car off (i take full responsibility, but sh*t happens, we ran into traffic and a bad car accident), the host turned completely rude and threatened to REPORT THE CAR STOLEN. Over reaction much?? Jesus christ, she was ready to turn me into a criminal and have me arrested over something that wasn’t even a huge deal. All this AFTER I gave her a courtesy heads up that I will be late droppi bf the car off ...I apologized to her and even offered to pay for an additional day for being late. She told me to cashapp her a late fee outside of the turo app (violation of the terms of service for Turo). The car rode smooth, no complaints except that the service light was on and overdue by 7,500 miles. Made us nervous since we had a 4 hour drive to our destination and another 4 hours back. Biggest complaint is just the inflexibility and rude demeanor of the host. Instead of charging me an entire extra day as I voluntarily offered of $35, i was instead charged a total fee of $60 for a late fee + an increased daily fee for the rental of the car for an additional day, when i was just late by 2 hours. Guess it worked out in her favor and she got some extra cash. Now i know why she didnt allow me to extend my rental for another day, she was able to net more money this way. And also tried to threaten me to send her cash outside of the turo app for a late fee and stated she would report the car stolen..... Will NOT be renting from her again.
