How do I charge an electric car?
Teslas can be charged while parked by plugging into a standard household electrical plug with the included charge cable. This is locked onto the car and can only be unlocked by the key holder. This will charge the car at about 4 miles an hour. This enough to add about 50 miles of range overnight. Several hotels in town have destination chargers and can charge your car overnight at a higher charge rate. I recommend two apps to help with charging: EVHotels which is a guide to EV charging at or near Hotels. Also, the ChargePoint app has listings for public level two chargers that charge at about 25 miles an hour. Set up an account with them with a credit card so you can charge the car if there is a fee. Some are free, other may have a small cost to use them. Teslas use a supercharger network for road trips to quickly charge the battery at up to 600 miles an hour. The car has a sophisticated mapping system to direct you to the appropriate charger on your trip. Santa Fe has a supercharger on the southwest side of town at the outlet mall. If you charge there, the fee will post to my account and I will bill that back to you. You can expect about a $12-$16 charge cost to fill the car up to 80% if near empty. Electric car batteries do not like to be filled over 90%, so please avoid doing that. The charger interface in the car makes it easy to stop the charge at 80 to 90%. Superchargers do have an idle fee which is expensive so you need to not leave the car on the charger once it is complete. You can fill the car with a charge in about 30 to 45 minutes. I can explain more for newbies who need help. It is a pretty easy thing to do.

Carl is easy to work with and patient with new Turo and Tesla users. I look forward to renting from him again.
Thanks Gary, it was my pleasure to rent to you and to turn another person onto electric cars. They really are the wave of the future.

Renting Carl's Tesla was an exceptional experience. The vehicle was near factory level cleanliness and very well maintained. I felt safe and confident while driving in the city and on the highway. Carl was courteous and communicated promptly answering my questions and concerns. He sent me videos on how to use the Tesla as this was my first time driving one. I highly recommend using his vehicle on Turo. Overall, I was wowed by his professionalism and friendliness.
Thanks Jonathan I appreciate the great review. I am glad we were able to help in your mission to deliver healthcare in rural New Mexico!

We drove this car from Santa Fe to Taos for a ski weekend. The car is is in mint condition, had plenty of room for both of us plus two boot bags, two ski bags and a roller bag. The car came with a full charge and had plenty of power adapters in the trunk. The host is quick to respond, easy to work with, and provided a seamless rental.

Great car and great host! One tip if you plan on driving a lot, remember to make sure to do overnight charging.

Beautiful car, responsive Owner. There is a learning curve to driving a Tesla, but once you get the basics down it is easy. The car is amazing and handles well. Also a good size that is not hard to park.
Sharon, thanks for the great review. You are welcome back anytime! If a guest wants to rent a Tesla and has never driven one, they are a LITTLE different. Here are some good videos at Tesla to learn how to use all of the features a Tesla Model 3 has to offer. : https://www.tesla.com/support/videos/search?search_filters=%7B%22Vehicle%22%3A1%2C%22Model%203%22%3A1%7D
