Description

If you haven't driven a Tesla before, my goal is for you to become just as excited about the future of electric vehicles as I've become since getting the Model 3. I'd historically driven older vehicles that I didn't care much about, because they were already so beat up... this is the first new car I've owned, and it is very important to me that drivers and passengers exercise a very high standard of care, particularly with the interior of the vehicle. A few examples: careful not to spill drinks or food, passengers don't sit down in the car shirtless after applying a heavy layer of sunscreen, sharp edges aren't dragging across the fake leather, no pets, etc. Please do not book the vehicle if you're unwilling to commit to taking great care of it while it is in your possession. That said, it's great that listing my Model 3 here on Turo will pull some additional cash, but my primary motivation is for others to enjoy the Tesla experience during times when I don't need to use the car. Feel free to message me with any questions in advance of booking! A few details: - 2019 Model 3 Standard Plus - Max range is about 220mi - The vehicle has Autopilot (adaptive cruise control plus steering), which is different from self driving (this Model 3 does not have), which allows you to put a destination in and the car does everything for you, including stopping at stoplights, signs, etc - Pickup at my home or office; you're welcome to leave your car parked on the street When you pick it up: - I'll have the car at least 80% full - If you'd like, I can usually be available to orient you with the vehicle and show you some of the main features - You're welcome to send me your Tesla Account email address in advance and I'll add your account to enable you to use the phone app While using the car: - Please never let the battery get below 10% (that is, about 20mi); it uses battery when sitting idle even when locked and unattended; if you'll be at your home or somewhere else with a NEMA 14-30 or 14-50, I can give you the charger to use there; and can review how to use Supercharger network etc. When you return it: - Totally fine to bring it back uncharged (but not under 10% / 20mi, of course 😊); it only costs about $4 in electricity to charge the entire battery when charging at home

Features

Must be 21+ to book

Automatic transmission

Parking details

If you have a vehicle you're bringing to pick up mine, you're welcome to leave yours in our neighborhood during your rental; ample street parking!

Guidelines

No smoking and no pets, please. And, secondly, please never allow the battery to get below 20mi remaining (approx 10% remaining).

Faqs

  • What if I need to charge the vehicle during the rental?

Option 1 (fastest): You can use a Tesla Supercharger (automatically bills my account), and I'll pass on the cost once it posts. The cost to recharge the entire battery at a Supercharger is generally under $15; the lower half of the battery will charge pretty quick. Option 2 (adds maybe 20mi/hr): There's an adapter you can use to plug in at any EV charger (a charger that isn't a Tesla charger); there are many free ones, for example, at the grocery store or some shopping centers. Option 3 (best option, if possible): If you're keeping the car overnight and will have it at a place with a NEMA 14-30 receptacle (most modern dryers) or a NEMA 14-50 receptacle (most modern electric ranges), I can give you the charger and you can plug it in overnight. This is definitely the best option; it will for sure be full when you wake up.

  • Does the rental begin with a full charge, and approx how many miles can I drive before it is empty?

Yes; unless you let me know that for some specific reason you need it full at 220mi, you'll get it at 80% charge... which is about 175mi. It is totally fine to return it empty, but please avoid allowing the battery to get below 10%... about 20mi remaining.
