To ensure a positive and secure rental experience for all, it's important to familiarize yourself with the following guidelines regarding items and activities that are not permitted in rented vehicles. By adhering to these guidelines, you help maintain the integrity of the Turo community and protect the vehicles you rent. 1. Smoking: Smoking, including the use of electronic cigarettes and vaping devices, is strictly prohibited in all Turo vehicles. This policy applies to both guests and their passengers. Smoking can cause significant damage to the vehicle, leave unpleasant odors, and compromise the experience for future renters. We kindly ask that you refrain from smoking in any rented vehicle.
 2. Pets: Unless explicitly stated by the host, pets are generally not allowed in Turo vehicles. While we understand the joy of traveling with your furry friends, some guests may have allergies or other sensitivities. Additionally, pets can leave behind hair, dander, or odors that may be challenging to remove. If you require a pet-friendly rental, we recommend using Turo's search filters to find vehicles that explicitly permit pets.
 3. Off-Roading and Racing: Engaging in off-roading or racing activities is strictly prohibited in Turo vehicles. These activities can be dangerous, put the vehicle and its occupants at risk, and cause significant damage to the car's suspension, tires, and other critical components. We urge all guests to respect local traffic laws and drive responsibly during their rental period.
 4. Towing: Using a Turo vehicle for towing purposes is generally not permitted unless explicitly stated by the host. Towing places additional stress on the vehicle's engine, transmission, and suspension, which may result in damage. If you require a vehicle for towing, be sure to search for hosts who explicitly state that towing is allowed and ensure the vehicle's specifications meet your requirements.
 5. Illegal Activities: Engaging in any illegal activities while in possession of a Turo vehicle is strictly prohibited. This includes but is not limited to driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, transporting illegal substances, or using the vehicle for any criminal purposes. Violation of this guideline may result in immediate termination of your Turo account and legal consequences.
 6. Excessive Dirt or Damage: While we understand that some wear and tear is inevitable during the course of a rental, it's important to treat the rented vehicle with care. Returning the vehicle excessively dirty, with significant stains, or with damage beyond normal wear and tear is not permitted. It's your responsibility to ensure the vehicle is returned in the same condition as it was received, excluding any pre-existing damage documented in the vehicle's listing.
 By following these guidelines, you contribute to a safe, respectful, and enjoyable Turo community. First Tesla Drive. Great car.

We picked up the vehicle from their office location at or around 7:15pm on August 30. ( at this time the sun was setting and it was approaching night time). We took basic photos of the vehicle and went straight to our hotel. Later that night we left our hotel to get food at or around 9:30-9:45pm and parked the vehicle in the parking garage at our hotel. The following day, we were in the vehicle heading to the lower antelope canyons when we notice a crack in the front windshield & the roof of the car. We were concerned that something happened while the vehicle was park the previous night so we filled out a incident report immediately and called the car host. The car host told us the cracks was pre existing damage. Prior to renting this car we were not notified of previous damage. Nor did any of the photos that the car host provide show any of these damages. This delayed our morning and put us back time for our 4 hr drive. We were confused on why it wasn’t shared that the car had damage. After Leaving the antelope canyons and heading back to our hotel, the car hydroplaned on the highway while it was storming. (This was the day AZ [phoenix] experience heavy rain)… We assumed we had just drove into water as there was some flooding due to the storm. The following day, we were heading to breakfast when we got a notification on the car that the tire pressure was low on the back driver side of the car. We immediately called the car host and let them know. They stated that “we probably driven over a nail and to take the car to discount tire to get it checked out” When we arrived at discount tire, they inspected the back tire and let us know that there was 0 tread left on the back tires and that the vehicle was not in safe condition to be driven on the road; or rented out. He also inspected the front tires and said they were the same. We contacted the host and let them speak directly to the employee who inspected our vehicle. During this time we tried to stay in communication with the host as we wanted to know the next steps (because we had plans for the day) The car host connected us their maintenance for the vehicles and we were sending picture via text and trying to communicate with them to figure out what was next. The car host were not good at communicating with us and barely responded. However they did contact discount tire directly and replaced all 4 tires on the vehicle. While this was happening we had to get an Uber to our hotel and back to the discount tire while the car was being fixed. We reached out and asked would we be reimbursed for the Uber rides and the host said that the reimbursement would have to come from Turo at the end of our trip. With all of this happening it left major delays within our trip and we missed out on activities we were supposed to be doing. Additionally once we received the bill we noticed we were charged an airport fee yet, we didn’t pick the vehicle up or return the vehicle to the airport. We took Uber’s to and from their office location (5-10 from the airport), which we again paid with our own money. After the tire bar incident, we were contacting the car host via the Turo app to express our disappointment. The host let us know that they would do be able to compensate us if we left a 5 star review, we told them that we would like half of our cost back. They agree and said that this would have to happen at the end of our trip.
