Please adhere to the following vehicle rules: Basic Rules: No smoking in the vehicle. No pets in the vehicle. Vehicle Cleaning Rules: Hand wash only, do not put the car through an automatic car wash! When having the car cleaned, do not have gel or product applied to the interior surfaces (aka ArmorAll) Please do not use air fresheners. Other guests might not like the heavy fragrances that air fresheners give. This is the Performance version, however I ask guests not to: Put the car in Track Mode Track the car Drift with the car Street race the car Remember, this is my personal car. * The car will come with the Tesla key fob and J1772 adapter, upon request I can also provide the charging cable along with the NEMA 5-15 adapter, which is the 110V, normal wall plug in. Upon return, any missing or damaged items will be charged to the guest based on replacement cost. *Supercharing and Superchager idle fees are charged to the guest.
How long does it take to charge the car?
Level 1: Using a regular 110v outlet with the included charger, it will give you 3-5 miles of range per hour. Getting a full charge from 0% to 80% - 90% can take up to 100 hours! Level 2: Using a 240v outlet (or most 3rd party EV stations) with the appropriate cables, will give you between 24-30 miles of charge per hour. To get the battery filled from 0% to 90%, or 270 miles it will take about 10 hours. Level 3: Using a Tesla Supercharger, it is possible to achieve a 0% to 80-90% battery fill up in 15-40 minutes, depending on the Supercharger station charging rate, either 72 kWh (fast), 150 kWh (faster) or 250 kWh (fastest). Other Level 3 stations do exist but require separate adapters and an account to use them with a Tesla.
How do I charge the car?
Supercharging: There are now over 20,000 Tesla Supercharging stations that are scattered all around the country! This car can charge from 20%-80% in 20 minutes at any of Tesla's 150+ kWh superchargers! Tesla 72 kWh Superchargers take about 40 min for the same charge. Check out all the supercharger locations here: https://tinyurl.com/yy6d4euc Other EV Charging Stations: Tesla comes with a J1772 to Tesla adapter, allowing you to use a wide variety of 3rd party charging stations. These vary from free charging at shopping centers, grocery stores, malls and many more, to paid charging stations, sometimes requiring accounts or subscriptions to other charging services. Here are a couple sites that show these charging stations (look for the J1772 stations) https://chargehub.com/en/charging-stations-map.html https://www.plugshare.com Home Charging This is generally the slowest way of charging. Plug in to your regular 110v outlet and get 3-5 miles of range per hour of charging. Got a 240v NEMA 14-50 plug? You can get up to 30 miles of range per hour.
How do I find a Tesla Supercharger?
Tesla's built in navigation has a map overlay for Supercharging stations. Simply tap the Lightning Bolt Icon on the bottom right of the map to pull up nearby Superchargers, they will be displayed as red icons. Gray icons show 3rd party charging stations.
How do I pay for Tesla Supercharging or charging at a public station?
Using a Tesla Supercharger is easy, just pull up, plug in and charge! After plugging in the charging screen will pop up, the bottom right corner of this screen shows the price of the current Supercharging session. This amount gets billed to my credit card on file with Tesla. At the end of the trip I will request reimbursement through Turo for on-trip Supercharging costs. To use Charge Point, Plug Share or other 3rd party EV stations you will have to create an account and pay on your own. Some may require other charging adapters that are not included.
When should I charge the battery to 100% capacity (299 mile range)?
Almost never! For normal daily driving purposes, please keep the battery charged from 30% to 90% of battery capacity. This is recommended by Tesla to ensure optimum battery life and performance. Only charge the battery to 100% capacity when driving road trips that require longer driving and adequate range to reach the next charging station. Additionally, never allow the battery charge to go to ZERO percent or stay at a critically low percentage. This can lead to permanent damage to the battery. Thank you for understanding.
