I strongly recommend you avoid this car, and this owner. The owner is unethical and dishonest. Take your money elsewhere, as you can not trust Emmanuel at all. The car broke down in Philadelphia 3 hours after rental, and after 2 hours of highway driving, with an electrical issue. This was at a gas station with, I soon saw, extensive drug dealing. I told the owner that the neighborhood was unsafe (though I was not going to call the police, given Philadelphia’s history of racist police violence), and that I would have to leave the car. He harassed me over the next five hours to stay by the car until a tow truck came, which I put up with until 930 pm, at which time the drug sales were in full force and I had to leave. This is unethical of him, but it’s forgivable — it’s stressful to have a car break down in a foreign city. What came next was unforgivable, and marks Emmanuel’s poor character. An hour later he abused me over the phone, yelling, that the car had no breakdowns in over 6 years and it must have been my “reckless driving” that caused the electricity to short. Not only does the past condition of the car have no immediate bearing on the car in the future, but there is no way to blow a car’s solenoids by hand while driving without crashing the car — it’s an issue with the internal circuity. Later, the owner admitted it was an electrical issue — sending me a picture of the blown fuse! — then tries to blame me for that electrical issue, as though I could insert my hand into the fuse box and personally damage it. This was obviously a lie — a pretense to ensure one more day of rental fees, attempting to make me responsible for his renting out a car with a wiring issue. Such problems happen to cars, fine, but lying about it is inexcusable. I explained to him how it was physically impossible for the driver to have independently blown a fuse. He then changed arguments — tacitly admitting his own lie — but still refused to refund me for the faulty car. Emmanuel is an immoral person who desires your money, and will lie in order to get it. Do not rent from him.

Emmanuel's response

Davindar, you rented my car based on the outstanding reviews I have and my courteous relationship with my guest. All my maintenance and inspection on my cars are up to date and in the glove compartment of the car. You rented my car and called my 4 hours later that the car will not move but though starting. You yelled at me that you will abandon the car which you did. Will you abandon the car if it was yours? Turo already refunded you so what is the problem?
