  • How do I connect my phone to the car?

    Make sure setting is on Aux on the screen Option 1: Connect using Aux cable located in the storage compartment between 2 front seats Option 2: Connect using the wireless Bluetooth device located in the storage compartment; press and hold the power button to turn on device then search for Bluetooth name on your phone to connect

  • How do I return the vehicle?

    - Ensure vehicle is returned clean - Ensure vehicle is returned with the same gas level during pick up, otherwise refueling fee applies - Return vehicle key to the lockbox in the arrival address above - Follow the instructions in the "Guest instructions" section or the next FAQ response below to access the lockbox. Use same code provided upon pick up to open the lockbox - Close the lockbox and Turo message me when vehicle key is securely returned to the lockbox with the location of the vehicle - Also upload a picture of where the vehicle is parked

  • Where do I pick up the key for the vehicle?

    To enable contactless pick up for safety purposes, please follow below instructions for key pick up. You will be picking up the vehicle key from a lockbox at the arrival location. - Proceed to arrive at 159 2nd Street, Jersey City, NJ 07302 (Arrival address) - Dial 604 or 6042 or 6041 or look for my name to dial on the security system to get access to the building - Take the elevator to the parking (P) level - At parking (P) level, walk out the elevator and through the glass doors but MAKE SURE TO LEAVE GLASS DOOR OPEN by using the clip at the bottom of the door. The door automatically locks behind you and you will have to leave the building same way you came in - Make a left turn right after you walk through the glass doors and another left turn shortly after to an alleyway - On the wall of the alleyway you will see a couple of lockboxes. Find a black lockbox called "Populife" located at the far right of the wall - Open the lockbox. To open the lockbox, tap on the surface until the touch pad numbers light up. Input the code which I will send you through Turo messaging and then hit the unlock sign on the touch pad. Note: Lockbox code will not be sent until you provide a photo of your DL and a selfie photo of you holding the DL next to your face. - Retrieve car keys from lockbox and close the lockbox - Leave the building and find vehicle parked on the street (exact location is provided in the Guest Instructions)

  • Where do I park upon vehicle return?

    - Park the vehicle within a maximum 3 block radius of the arrival address - 159 2nd Street, Jersey City, NJ 07302 - The vehicle has a Zone 4 parking permit for Jersey City, NJ. Therefore, please park only by a zone 4 permit eligible street parking spot - Send me a Turo message and pictures detailing where the vehicle is parked - Follow Turo's street parking instructions using link below Turo Street Parking Instructions: https://support.turo.com/hc/en-us/articles/203990660-Street-parking#:~:text=When%20you%20book%20a%20car,zones%2C%20and%20street%20sweeping%20times.

  • What do I need to provide prior to vehicle pick up?

    Since this is a remote key handoff, Turo requires that you send me a photo of your driver's license (DL) and a selfie photo of you holding the DL next to your face. You can add the photos through the Turo app or text them directly to me.   • When will I get the lockbox code?

    Code will be provided to you upon receipt of a photo of your driver's license (DL) and a selfie of you holding the DL next to your face at least an hour prior to your trip.

  • Does the vehicle have an EzPass?

    The vehicle has an EzPass account tied to it. The physical EzPass tag will not be in the vehicle due to security reasons but you can drive through EzPass and it will read the license plate of the vehicle and know to charge the EzPass account assigned to the vehicle. A reimbursement request will be sent to you upon end of your trip.

The car was clean when we picked it up and got us to where we needed to go safely so it did the job and fairly well. But there were a couple of minor things that prevented me from giving the trip five stars. As others have mentioned, pick-up and drop off aren’t the quickest operations so if you need to be able to pick up and drop off in minutes, I would look elsewhere. I ran into a few snags with picking up the vehicle, but thankfully Sean was responsive and able to help me out. You should definitely plan to spend some time finding street parking. The vehicle itself drives well but does have a few minor issues like a slight shimmy as one would expected from a ten year old car. The air also only worked on the max setting for some reason which I told Sean about and he said he’d look into. Overall, we were satisfied with the trip. It wasn’t perfect but neither were we as we were late to pick up the car by a couple of hours.
