Description

Drive the first 40 miles for free! The Chevy Volt gives you the best of both worlds, great gas mileage, and amazing, super smooth acceleration. Don't believe me, try it for yourself! The Volt is a plug-in hybrid, so it runs the first 40 (or so) miles on electric and switches over seamlessly to gas. You may not even notice. The car will come fully charged and you don't have to charge it before you bring it back. Just fill up the gas, the electric range is on us. Otherwise, the Volt drives just like any other car, except that it gets great gas mileage and is a blast to drive. The Chevy Volt is an amazing car that won numerous awards. It has surprisingly smooth and quick acceleration, great handling, yet a fantastic gas mileage of 42 mpg (EPA combined). Whether you are driving around town or across the country, this is the car for you. This car comes with many convenience features, such as Bluetooth, XM Radio, back-up camera, USB input, heated seats, and even a heated steering wheel (my favorite). It has ample space in front, even for large adults (I am 6'4"), space for 2 people in the back, and lots of luggage space. Because it is a hatchback it is easier to load and has a large cargo area, especially with the seats folded down. If you've never driven a Volt you own it to yourself to try one. You might just fall in love.

  • How do you charge your electric car?

Since the Volt is a plug-in hybrid you don't have to charge it in, you can just drive it on gas like any regular hybrid. However, driving on electricity is more fun and much cheaper, or even free. (see below) Charging the Volt is easy. Just plug the included charging cable into any regular 110 V outlet indoors or outdoors, then plug it into the car's charging port which is located on the front left fender of the car, just in front of the driver's door. If you see a green blinking light on top of the dashboard, that means you are charging. Once full the light will be solid. It takes about 10 hours to fully charge the car (on 12 amps), so best done overnight You can also take advantage of free charging in parking garages, at restaurants, shops, etc. Just take the charger they provide and plug it into the car's charging port. This is quite a bit faster and usually takes about four hours to fully charge the car. Download the Plugshare app to find charging stations near you. You should get between 40 and 60 miles (53 EPA) on electricity, depending on weather and driving style. Tip: Always keep the gear shifter in L while driving for more regeneration and (almost) one-pedal driving. It's fun and more relaxing to drive. (Don't worry, the car doesn't actually have a transmission, so you can't damage anything.)
