Meet the Midnight Surfer, a comfortable, sleek Tesla Model S available for pickup near the Clinton ferry terminal ON WHIDBEY ISLAND or within a 10-mile radius ON ISLAND. This is an ideal car for Whidbey Island adventures, and possibly suited for travel beyond the island - please check with me on your plans to ensure that this car will suit your rental needs - there are some things to keep in mind if you are unfamiliar with driving a Tesla. You can get about 200 miles out of a full battery, depending on how hilly your route is and what systems are in use such as AC or heat. Experience the quiet drive, performance, handling, and fun features of the Midnight Surfer: -autopilot, -touchscreen, -navigation, -retractable door handles, -voice activated commands, -panoramic sunroof, and -games. Guests at the Saratoga Inn and Inn at Langley have access to Tesla charging. There are other stations on the island for charging as well, and it can be plugged into a wall outlet. We have had guests in need of transportation on Whidbey Island, needing something reliable for a road trip off island, and to experience more than just a test drive when considering a Tesla for purchase. This is the third Tesla in our family - we used to have a Model X, and now we have a Model Y in addition to this Model S. We definitely love the brand, and are happy to talk about them with you. If you are coming from SeaTac, public transit on weekday afternoons can get you from the airport to downtown on the light rail, and then take the train to the ferry in Mukilteo. If you come from Paine Field, there is a bus to the ferry, or if you want to arrive more quickly, take a ride share to the Mukilteo ferry terminal.

No smoking - Turo's policy on the matter is clear. Smoking in a vehicle is grounds to be banned from using the platform in the future. And damage from smoking in the car will be the responsibility of the guest. Please let me know if anything comes up with the car.

Can the car drive itself?
This car does have autopilot, but you must remain focused on the road at all times as the system is not completely autonomous. It works best on highways where lanes are clearly marked. It won't stop at stop signs or red lights, but it will track how far away it is from the car ahead of you - you can set it to keep a distance of 1 - 7 car lengths. Unless there is a divider between you and oncoming traffic, it will be limited to going 5 MPH above the speed limit on autopilot.
Do I need to pay to charge the car?
This car comes with free supercharging - this means that if you go to a Tesla supercharger, charging the car is free. There is a slower charger at Greenbank Farm which is free and solar powered. You can enjoy the shops and park while plugged in.
How far can I go on a full battery with the Midnight Surfer?
Depending on terrain and system use, the car will go about 200 miles, less if you are using a lot of heat or AC, and driving up a lot of hills. You can get more if you are driving down a lot of hills with regen.

Savannah was wonderful in this experience. It was a last minute rental needed for a wedding. She was flexible with the drop off. The car was immaculate when I received it. She met with me and explained how the car works at drop off. There is so many great things here. The only thing I would recommend to be aware of is the battery. It lasts a while but if you're going to be driving long distances just make sure to plan charging along the way so you don't get stuck charging at a slow charge for hours like i did. Savannah did explain this to me as well. So it wasn't a surprise. Just poor planning on my part. Lol. Thanks again Savannah!
