Read the guidelines You have to be crazy to rent this car. I think it's crazy that I own it. AMG turned everything up to 11 on this car. It weighs 4500 pounds. It has 604 horsepower, 738 ft-lbs. of torque, 12 cylinders, twin turbochargers. The speed is insane. Have fun with the car, but don't chew up the tires too badly. We'll measure tread depth at the start and end of each trip. Also, please give the engine a couple minutes to warm up before thrashing it (I know you're going to go fast, I'll be disappointed if you don't), and let the turbos cool off for a couple minutes before shutting it down. And be extra careful with the interior, it looks new and in a car like this it's important to keep it that way. My other cars are expected to wear out a bit, but this one is about the experience, not the utility. My driver's review of the car: I have mixed feelings about the AMG. I'm always looking for an excuse to drive it because it's addicting. But I also think the car is a bit stupid. It's luxurious in a way, being a top of the line Mercedes. It's fast like a Viper. But here's what happens. You're driving it down the street and not turning any heads because it looks like just another Mercedes. So you step on the gas a little to make some noise and hear the turbos spool up. That leads to the limited slip differential throwing the rear sideways as you quickly reach highway speeds. Your heart pounds louder than a Toyota Corolla blasting Reggaeton as your face goes paler than a Scot's. That's not luxury. And it's not the broad smile that redlining a little sports car as you fling it into a turn generates. With the AMG, you're inevitably afraid that you'll get a ticket, hit a pedestrian, scratch the rims, or merely look like an idiot as you lose control. And maybe it ruins the fun of ordinary sports cars a little because almost everything else feels slow after driving the AMG. Go rent an MR2, an S2000, a Mustang, a Corvette, a Boxster. Something that shows you have taste, style, personality. Nobody likes a person who shows up in an AMG. Don't say I didn't warn you. :) This car uses the EZ-Pass transponder number 02104244138. Turo suggests confirming the transponder number before your trip.

Premium fuel required, please upload your receipt. $80 charge for draining and replacing all the fuel in the tank if you don't provide a receipt. You can also not refuel and get billed at $4/gallon based on how much you consumed. 1. Have a friendly face as your profile photo. 2. Tell the host why you're renting. 3. Tell me if you can drive a manual, if you can't and would like to learn (free lessons), and whether you have a preference. 4. Be flexible with your trip times and vehicle. 5. Give hosts your arrival plans. 6. Show up on time. 7. Allow 10 - 15 minutes for photos, pre-trip inspection, and an overview of how to operate the car. 8. Call the host right away if you have any issues during your trip. 9. Communicate your return plans. 10. Bring the car back clean and refuelled. 11. If there's damage, tell me about it. 12. Pay your parking tickets right away. 13. Write a review. 14. Check the toll bill for accuracy and approve it. 15. Call me next time you need a car. 16. If you're renting as a group, the driver shouldn't pay.
Why are you so strict about arrival time?
One of the biggest operating costs of Turo is meeting renters. Some renters make it very easy, others are difficult. I rent to everyone, don't discriminate based on any perception of how difficult a renter will be to serve. That's only possible if I can charge for inconvenience, damage, smoking, etc. By insisting on promptness, I get high quality renters who are successful in life because they make things easy for everyone they interact with. And you get clean, well-maintained cars, promptly at your scheduled pickup time. It beats waiting at the rental counter at Hertz.
