Description

Experience luxury and sustainability with the new 2023 Tesla Model 3 Standard Range. This top-of-the-line electric vehicle offers a smooth ride, advanced safety features, and a premium sound system for music and podcasts. With a range of up to 270 miles and zero emissions, Tesla Model 3 is an eco-friendly choice for the modern traveler. Important: ⚠️ If this will be your first time driving a Tesla, please watch the tutorial on its features and settings here: https://www.tesla.com/support/meet-your-tesla/model-y or https://youtu.be/KAJFALcJjac ⚠️ This is a full battery-operated vehicle. Best practice for maintenance is to ensure the battery doesn't drop below 15% (30 miles) before recharging. ⚠️ Best practice for battery health is to charge the car no more than 270 miles for daily use. You can extend the limit for long road trips. ⚠️ If you let the car die, you will incur a $250 service charge to tow it to the nearest EV charging station. ⚠️When using Tesla’s Supercharger network, please do not leave the vehicle idle once it is fully charged. TESLA WILL CHARGE owners $1.00 per minute (idling fees) to avoid charge station congestion. Renters are responsible for idling fees.

Kim was great in getting the car ready for us. It was clean and just as expected. I am new to the EV world so it took some getting used to the car basics like locking and unlocking the car/Starting (using a key card), turn signal, stopping and going using mainly the accelerator pedal and the very few times the brake pedal which were really for emergency braking. Otherwise the Right pedal does most of the work for moving and stopping. I don't recommend using the autonomous driving mode available on this car especially around construction zones because the road may have been rerouted and the maps that the vehicle uses may not have been updated so it seems to want to go through barriers that it thinks is not there. Maybe the system has an obstacle avoidance mode but I surely didn't want to test it and just overrode the Autonomous driving when I saw it wanted to follow the old route when clearly there were barriers in the way. Or maybe I just aren't experienced enough with the system to use it properly. Tesla superchargers aren't as widespread as in California especially in downtown Austin area but there are some other brand Charging stations with Class 3 Level (DC Fast Charging) but you will need a CCS adapter to use them. Unfortunately, this car did not have that particular adapter. It did have a J1702 adapter so I was able to use it to charge at a Chargepoint charging station but it was very slow compared to Tesla Superchargers. All in all, if you plan your route beforehand and know when you will need to charge, you will be able to find a Tesla Supercharger and adjust your route accordingly. Kim will send you a supplemental bull after your trip for any Supercharger use during your trip so no need to worry about having an account. It was about $12-$13 to charge to 80%-100%. However, you will be well prepared for any situation if you do set up an EV Go or Chargepoint account before hand so you will be ready if you can't find a Supercharger nearby. Kim's ride will be perfect for your all Austin needs. I highly recommend.

Great car, easy pick up and drop off experience. Was just disappointed that I was not allowed to use any Tesla features like even auto pilot which is the only reason I wanted to rent a Tesla for this specific trip.
