Description

This car has to be the best way to explore austin - top down for an early morning run out to the lake, top up if the heat cranks up for your back roads trip to get BBQ. The Boxster is Porsche's most intuitive and well balanced car, so you can experience the famous flat 6 without having to be a 911 expert. If you are considering airport delivery, it's actually cheaper if you take a Lyft to the Porsche. It's usually only $15 each way, and the Porsche is in a nice part of town... I try very hard to be the easiest host on Turo. Try me out...

Parking details

Pickup and drop off are easy - the Porsche is in a garage very close to Downtown with easy access. You'll return it to the same garage, where it has a reserved space. No need to find a parking spot.

Guidelines

- I added a TxTag for the car so that you can take it on tollways. Just let me know if you use it and I can add it to the invoice. - No smoking, no pets, no smoking pets. - Bring the Porsche back the way you picked it up, basically clean, full of gas and ready to go get some BBQ.

Faqs

  • How do I lower the top?

To open/close the top, look for the switches to the right of the driver's seat that open and close the top. the top likes to be all the way up or all the way down.

  • where is the gas cap?

The gas cap is on the passenger's side front fender. The Boxster takes Premium

  • How do I change the position of the steering wheel?

There is a manual lever on the underside of the steering wheel. Disengage the lock and it will move. Don't forget to put the lock back into position before driving.

  • Is there a trunk?

There are two trunks, front and rear. Both can be opened via the key, or the switches to the left of the driver's seat. the switches are electronic, so no need to use any force to operate them.

  • I picked the car up and its on empty!

The gas gauge is a bit of an optical illusion if you've never seen a Porsche gauge. When its full, it looks empty. As you start to use some fuel you'll see the little white bar start to go down.

No issues with Greg or the Boxster, the perfect car for the hot Austin weather. AC blew ice cold, everything worked and the car really made our trip special. We saved a ton of money parking it using the spot each night too.

The Boxter was the ideal option for exploring Austin in the summer. Top down and red interior were a cool change of pace.

I hate to leave 3 stars because the host was incredible and I had a fun time with the car but the only thing was that the interior was very dirty. I was told that the car was disinfected but it certainly wasn’t clean in terms of the dust buildup, grime and oils on the dash, digital display and steering wheel, which was a bit embarrassing as I brought my girlfriend on the trip. When I rent a car I expect it to be cleaner than my own and that was certainly not the case. For this reason, I have to say it was a 3 star experience.

Gregg's response

Hi Kian - I had to go back and look at the pictures and the car looks spotless. I'm surprised that you found some dust on the car, but let me know the next time you're in Austin and I'll make it up to you.

Before you think about renting from a big name rental company, just don't. Take a trip with one of Gregg's vehicles instead. Gregg is an awesome host who makes the process smooth. The pickup and drop-off process could not be more convenient and easy. The porsche boxter made sight seeing austin a fantastic experience. I enjoyed how stylish and comfortable the car was. The porsche made me want to buy one for myself. Would definatly rent again.

The car was making a loud sustained squeaking noise while we had it. I let the host know, since it was extremely annoying and could have potentially been a mechanical issue. They asked for us to return the car. We refueled the car and dropped it off in the early evening after driving a total of 17 miles. The host took a look the following morning, shared a driving video of the car, and said that it was perfect. I shared my own video evidence of the loud squeaking but the host did not respond. All in all, it was a poor experience and we are out the full price of the rental for 17 miles of driving.
