If you want to leave your car at our house it will be on the drive and at night our Zoe will be parked behind it.

The car will be provided fully valeted and sanitised and with a full battery. A cleaning fee of £150 will be charged if dirt or rubbish are left inside the car, so please look after and keep the car clean. Strictly no smoking in the vehicle. There is a £250 charge if the car has been smoked in. These fees are set by Turo. No pets.

• Charging

  ⚡️Including Using the Super Charger Network⚡️ Tesla superchargers are on many major roads and the navigation screen will automatically route you to any charge stops along the way. The supercharger network can take the car from 10-80% in about 30 minutes. If you are travelling away from major motorways / superchargers there are apps like Zap Map to help find other chargers. Update Dec 2022 - Tesla say that the next software update may also navigate to other fast and reliable chargers from other companies. You can open the charge port from the screen in the car - select the charging menu and tap the charge icon at the rear left of the car. Super charging costs will be added to your cost at the end of every trip! (Tesla Super charging stations automatically bill the owner of the vehicle which means charging is very easy) Other CCS public chargers will also work but will often be slower and you will need to pay as you go and often need smart phone apps. Supercharger rates are around 40p per kilowatt (as of May 2023) at off peak times (avoiding 4pm - 8pm). There is an "idle fee" of £1 per minute if you don't move from the supercharging space when charging has finished. If you return the car at less than 80% charge (but no less than 10% please) we will normally charge you 30p per kw if we can charge at home overnight or the supercharger rate otherwise. Please do not allow the battery to go lower than 10%. This car has a new technology LFP battery so charging to 100% is fine but will be slower as the battery gets close to full. In the frunk (front trunk) there are charging cables. Some slower public chargers do not have a cable so you can use ours. You can also plug into a domestic socket - this is slow but if you can park where this is available it can add 60 miles or more of range overnight (8 hours) and be cheaper than fast charging.

• Autopilot

  If you are not familiar with Autopilot we recommend that you do not use it. It is amazing but can still do some odd things especially when passing junctions, changing lanes, bad weather, confusing road works and other random times. If you do want to try it then please: - read up about it first! - Autopilot is for use on motorways only - stay very alert for it making any mistakes - it does take a little getting used to the car steering itself but is is very good most of the time - you must be ready to take control of the car at any time.

• Driving a Tesla

  The controls of Teslas are a bit different to other cars. If you want a 15 minute demo let us know. The main differences are Regenerative braking - like other electric cars when you take your foot off the accelerator the car brakes and comes to a smooth stop. It then holds without having to press the brake until you press the accelerator again. For faster braking the brake pedal is allos there as in any other car. This is a setting and can be turned off but we don't recommend that as it makes the car very easy to drive and saves a lot of electric and gives the most range. Many of the controls are different - short Tesla video explains some of them at https://www.tesla.com/support/videos/watch/physical-controls-meet-your-model-3 One important difference is for the window wipers, we leave them set on auto most of the time but if you need to wipe manually press in the end of the left stalk (and hold in to wipe with water).

• Parking - IMPORTANT - no Ultrasonic parking sensors

  This car does NOT have Ultrasonic sensors - it uses a vision system that is not as accurate as normal sensors to give audible beeps as you get close to objects while parking. The system now shows an approximate visual top down view as you park. Reverse parking is a lot easier with the excellent reversing camera.
