This electric car is phenomenal and has zero fuel costs. Many public chargers in Scotland are also free. I've driven it as far as the Lake District in England, when I needed to recharge twice, both free of charge, on the way. If you are unsure about the range for your journey, I highly recommend the ABRP mapping app. This allows you to plan routes and tells you where you may need to charge enroute to your destination. If you use this app, make sure you use it as your sat nav and drive the route it suggests. The car is kept close to Dunblane Railway Station, so it is convenient to pick up the car. I will also deliver it to you locally. You won't need to pay for fuel. My vehicle is well maintained and in very good condition. It is a top of the range Tekna 30kWh version with keyless entry, heated seats, LED headlights etc. It is great to drive with very brisk acceleration in town. I am renting my car to give people a chance to experience driving an electric car. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Many public chargers in Scotland are free of charge--you just have to sign up with the ChargePlace Scotland app. If you want to recharge the vehicle when you rent it, I suggest you set up this app beforehand. If you don't have the app, you can start a charging session by going to the web page at webpay.chargeplacescotland.org You can also normally charge for free at any Nissan Dealer and sometimes other car dealers too, which is handy. When I rent out the vehicle, I'll try to make sure it is fully charged and you can return it with low charge, so if you are driving under 60 miles you won't have to worry about charging it. Otherwise, there are many rapid chargers in Glasgow and Edinburgh etc. where you can leave it to charge back up in 30 minutes or so. There are also chargers in Stirling, Bridge of Allan etc although you won't need them for such a short trip. FAQ 1) What is the actual range of the battery? I've read both 107 and 155 miles for the 2016 Leaf, so I'm curious how your stated 60 miles stacks up - do you mean recharging shouldn't be necessary within a 60 mile radius, adding up to 120 round trip? Answer: 60 miles is a conservative estimate. It depends on the speed you drive. Electric cars are very efficient at slow speeds. My Leaf is less efficient at high speeds. If I drive it at a constant 55mph it will have a total range of 75 miles. 2) Are you able to estimate the amount of time the battery requires to recharge from empty at the various types of charge point available in Scotland? (e.g. 43kW rapid, 50kW rapid, or 22kW AC) Answer: Rapid charging works best for charging up to about 80% or 90% of capacity. Beyond that, the charging rate slows down. The battery capacity is 30kWh. A 50kW charger can put in up to 50kWh into the battery per hour, so you can work out the time from that. The 7kW chargers are good for charging it up to 100% overnight, so you have a full charge in the morning. 3) In your experience, when a charge point status is 'unknown' on the ChargePlace Scotland website, are they in fact operational? In other words, does 'unknown' just mean you can't be sure whether or not they're already occupied? Answer: I don't know. The charger connects to the internet's via a mobile phone data connection. It might be that the connection is down. 4) Would you indeed be willing to facilitate pick-up/drop-off from central Glasgow for £80 as advertised on your listing? If so we'd greatly appreciate this. Answer: Yes, that is fine. Getting to Glasgow would use about 40% of the battery, so it would be about 60% charged when I hand it over to you. 5) I cannot install the Chargeplace Scotland app on my iphone Answer: Try this link: https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/chargeplace-scotland/id1572473574

I am sorry to say, no smoking, no eating smelly food nor drinks which will leave unpleasant smell in the car. If you can use it as your own car and keep it clean, I am happy to rent it to you. Thank you so much.

Great little car. Clean and comfortable and got us where we needed to go, excellent for cruising the Scottish country backroads. Definitely use an app like zap map to get around and avoid highways if you can. Martin was also a lovely host with lots of great tips. Recommend.

Had a great time traveling to Inverness in Martin’s Leaf. The car did well for the trip and we enjoyed using an electric alternative.

The Nissan Leaf served us well during our monthlong trip to Scotland. Neither my fiancé nor I had ever driven an electric vehicle before, and we were pleasantly surprised by it. Be warned that it does have a short battery life, especially in very cold weather, so it requires some planning ahead. Martin and his son were both very accommodating and pleasant.

Really nice car that allowed us without effort to drive around the country (Inverness - Fort William), perfect for slow travels and taking time for stops.
