Faqs

  • How much is charging?

Charging prices depend on the provider you choose. Typically it is free or few $/hour for slow chargers on the street or parking lot and around $12 per 40min of tesla supercharging. Good thing is this car has Chademo fast-charger adapter on top of other standard plugs. For example, BC Hydro chargers allow you to charge for FREE at speed of 300km/h. Many city pay parking spots provide complimentary slow chargers (40km/hour). And of course you have access to Tesla superchargers (speed upto 1000km/h) which cost around $12 for 40-min session. For Supercharging I will be billed first, I will email you receipts and ask to pay them.

  • How long can I drive on one charge?

While the car is rated at 386km, the real world usage will most likely be lower depending on speed, weather and elevation profile of the road. Every time you start a trip Tesla will tell you when and where to charge if it needs a charge at all. Typically this car is good to travel >200km on a highway and >300km in city on a single charge.

  • Can I drive on the highways?

Yes! You have range and chargers to support long trips including trans-Canada, Whistler, The Island, Banff, Jasper, Fernie and many other remote locations.

  • How long does it take to charge on the highway?

Typically 30-min stop is enough to continue your trip.

  • How can I find chargers?

Your Tesla shows only Tesla-branded chargers, mostly superchargers or destination chargers at hotels/wineries. To see all available chargers: 1. Install “PlugShare” app on your phone 2. Adjust filter to show: -Supercharger -CHAdeMO -J-1772 -Tesla

  • How to charge on Tesla Superchargers?

It is easy! 1. Take the plug 2. Push a button on the plug to open Tesla charging port 3. Plug it to the port 4. Sip your coffee while Tesla projects charging time and cost on the screen!

  • How to charge on non-Tesla EV charger?

In most cases details will be provided at the Charger. In 90% cases you will need to download ChargePoint app, which works with ChargePoint, Flo and most of BC Hydro chargers. Plug J-1772 connector via Tesla adapter to the car. In case of using BC Hydro stations - follow instructions on the screen of the charger station. You will find BC Hydro RFID card in the glovebox and Chademo adapter in your trunk. 1. Plug Chademo adapter to the car first. 2. Plug Chademo-male port to the adapter. 3. Put BC Hydro card on RFID reader. 4. Enjoy your free charging
