Troisième fois que je loue chez MVTF et toujours satisfait du service

Where do I begin? A few days before the reservation the host messaged me and gave me 10 min to accept a change of car or he was going to cancel the reservation. After asking the necessary clarifying questions, such as whether or not the new car was an automatic transmission, I accepted the change. The morning of the reservation, the car I received had a manual transmission. The host does not answer messages or phone calls. Thankfully, Turo support was there for me and got in touch with the host. An hour and a half later, the host brings an automatic car for me to use. However, they were going to give it to me without a proper Turo booking. I insisted I wanted to book it in the app to be protected. Eventually we manage to do that. 

Now to the car itself. The glass on the front left light was broken. I asked if the light itself worked, I was told yes (surprise, it did not). I asked about insurance for the new car, I was told I could find this in the Turo app. Out of curiosity I check in the Turo app later in the day. I am redirected to a webpage which outlines what is required in the vehicle. For France rentals, the host is responsible for having the following in the car: copy of registration, copy of personal insurance, proof of valid technical control. None of these were in the car. 

Moreover, there was no reflective vest or warning triangle in the vehicle. These are items legally required in vehicles in France. It's a very good thing I did not get stopped by the police. When I asked about the missing documents at the end of the trip, I was assured that they did not need to be in the vehicle and the police could just look them up. Regardless if that is true or not (I doubt it, what if there's a minor collision not involving police), it's Turo's policy to have them in the vehicle. 

It goes on, the vehicle also did not have a Crit'Air sticker. When I asked about this, I was told it didn't need the sticker and I was good to go. This goes against the information I have found on the internet regarding urban low emission zones. Finally, the car was given to me with a quarter tank of gas. So, I had to fill up at the start of my trip which meant trying to judge how much gas I was going to need to try and leave the car with around a quarter tank at the end. Obviously, I ended up giving the host free gas rather than risking running out. This is not an issue if the car has a full tank at the start of the trip and you just need to top up before returning it.

So, in brief, rent at your own risk (literally).
