The car was in good condition and very clean. Mustapha requested me to hand back the car in the same cleanliness conditions, involving vacuum cleaning and car wash. I was surprised by his request and told him I couldn’t do it due to early train and flight schedule with my family. He was adamant it was in Turo’s conditions and failure to clean would result in a cleaning penalty charged on the app. The appointment place was Annemasse station, as agreed in Turo’s chat after booking the car. Mustapha then advised that the car should be returned to his home address as indicated on the contract, whilst we’ve agreed to meet at the train station. I have then asked Mustapha to propose a fee for cleaning and taxi, he offered 20€ which I have accepted.
Checking Turo’s conditions afterwards, Mustapha statement on car cleanliness when returned was untrue. I have then contacted him to clarify and he continued to assert the car should be given back in the same cleanliness conditions. I have sent him snapshots of Turos’s conditions to demonstrate he was wrong. I have also cancelled our unfair deal and requested him to drive to the station for 5€, less than 2 km distance. Mustapha refused and required the car to be returned at the time and place stipulated on the contract. I was left with no option but to drop my family at the station, drive to Mustapha’s flat, and then run to the station to catch my train to the airport. To conclude, Mustapha has been dishonest and whilst the car is impeccable, his attitude when I showed him he was wrong has been pathetic.
