I've owned several cars from VW, Ford, Chevrolet, Mazda, Nissan, Cadillac, and Toyota, but my recent, new favorite is the Tesla, which I don't own, but enjoy driving through rentals on TURO.
My farthest trip from home in a Tesla was to Arches National Park in September 2019 in a Model 3. That trip went well except for a temporary setback at the Supercharger in Green River. The first station I tried only trickle charged. But, I remedied that by moving to the next station over and that charged the car nicely.
On a previous trip, in September 2018 with a Model X, the Supercharger in Evanston was down, so we returned to SLC and arrived at the Tesla show room with only 41 miles of range to spare. Regenerating down Parley's Canyon helped quite a bit on that trip.
If and when I win the lottery, I think I'll buy a Tesla. Until then, I'll probably have to settle for renting one now and again.
