If I could rate this at a 0, I would. This was my first rental with Turo and its been a huge disappointment. There were many issues with this car, and then even more issue with the owner of the car and his actions at the end of the rental. When I got the car, he left the car with slightly more than a quarter tank of gas. He took a photo of the tank from an angle to make it look like it had more than it really had. He later used this against me at the return, taking a photo of the gas tank showing it had less, which in actuality, it was probably only slightly less. He is trying to impose a $35 gas fee for reimbursement of what is probably less than $5 in gas. Additionally, the car was dirty. Stuff on the floor and garbage in the door pockets, etc.... He is trying to impose a $40 cleaning fee on me for returning it in the same condition, although I had to pay to have it cleaned at the beginning. The front windshield has two cracks in it. This is not disclosed in the condition report. His response to me was basically that it did not matter because it was not in the line of sight. Anyone who has any sense understands that any break in the glass is a huge hazard, and this is why insurance companies typically will replace windshields for free. The tires are bald. The GPS does not work, despite him marketing the car with GPS. This made it very challenging driving to the lake on back roads with limited cell coverage. Finally, the automatic rear tailgate never functioned correctly. When we got it, I tried to open it with the opener, and it would only partially open and it would make this clicking sound like the gears were slipping. The only way to fully open the tail gate is to do it manually, but you still hear that awful gear slipping sound. Despite all of the above issues, I tried to put up with it mainly because Turo had no other large SUV's available and it was still drivable so I was just going to deal with it. That is now becoming an even larger problem. Because I was just dealing with the issues and when I pushed back on the owner about the gas/cleaning fees, he vindictively filed a claim with Turo claiming that I was the one who caused all this damage to his car. BEWARE - THIS GUY IS NO GOOD - RENT ANOTHER CAR ps, I'm assuming there is going to be some bs response as that is all this guy gives in responses....
