Decent renter, takes good care of our cars whenever he rents them and I have not had issues with any of our rentals while in his possession. Al is a renter that needs more hand-holding than the average host usually gives. He is old school and uses a windows phone which does not support the Turo app so he calls Turo to make and extend reservations, will not take pics of the car or check himself in/out, may ask for your help helping extend a reservation, or calling him a lyft/uber since his windows phone doesn’t function seamlessly like androids/iphones do etc. He also picks up and drops off vehicles on his schedule, which doesn’t always work in your favor if you can’t be flexible.

Al used the instant book feature without delivery to book my vehicle. Shortly after he says he is having trouble getting to my location for pick up. He seemed like an older gentlemen simply having trouble navigation the apps, so I offered to deliver for fee and he agreed. Upon meeting and speaking with him, he informed me that he was software engineer which immediately made me question why he was having issues navigating apps when he designs software. He needed to extend his trip for a day, but he kept the vehicle without extending the trip on Turo. Turo did get in contact with him and fixed it. For drop off he left my vehicle in a restaurant parking lot not near my home without any prior coordination. He send my a message telling me where he left it and that told me he would send payment via PayPal. I was already suspect especially after reading all the other reviews he had, so after the trip ended I immediately requested reimbursement through the app as of course I didn't receive any payment as promised from Al. Al disputed the request for fuel (he left the tank almost empty) and delivery fees. I upload our texts and fuel receipt. Turo ruled I my favor and I was reimbursed, but this should have never been disputed since the fees were agreed upon on my page tells you I will request reimburse for fuel if not returned with a full tank. I do not plan to rent to Al in future. I provided assistance that I didn't have to even offered a delivery discount and he tried to get out of paying me.

Turo is all about accurately taking photos and following instructions... Alphonso never uploaded any photos as I requested because he doesn’t have the Turo app installed on his phone, which made the process hard and extended the communication with repetitive steps
