We rented the Tesla Model X from Janine for two weeks over the Christmas holidays and absolutely loved the car. Charging was a bit of an issue as most of the chargers were broken or out of service. But if you down load ChargePoint and sign up as well as PlugShare you can find places to go. The fancy resorts have charging stations. Janine was excellent with all our communication and fast to respond. Overall fantastic service. We will be definitely booking the Tesla on our next trip to Maui. Maholo.

Janine was friendly and tried to be accommodating. A few days before we arrived Janine got my flight information and said she would track the flight and pick us up from the airport in the Tesla. When our plane landed an hour late she said she couldn't pick us up in the Tesla only pick me up, not my family but it was a 15 min cab ride away to the Tesla. I opted for the cab which was 24 min one way and ~$50. It'd be nice if she offered a remote unlock at airport or would have worked out other arrangements to deliver on the promise. As for charging the J1772 connector adapter is limited on number of places in the island it works. There are only 4 official Tesla stations and they all require booking at that hotel. I recommend to look on Google maps Maui for charging stations and edit that plug. If you can't leave it there for many hours every day (ideally overnight) it's not practical to rent since the charge is so slow. We got only 50 miles in almost 3 hours. It would have been nice to have this info as the FAQ on charging or conversation wasn't sufficient. The car was a bit dirty but in some ways a relief since we knew we would be at the beach and with kids it's hard to keep it pristine. On return the car wash location recommended worked out well to return it better than I got it. Other other odd thing to be aware of is she felt the Tesla trunk space was her personal space and not to be used. We had to use this space to fit all of our luggage and after arrival beach chairs and bogey boards since we needed both rear seats for the kids.
