Beware. We rented this car thinking we were renting from an individual, not a dealership. This was our first disappointment. Perhaps my own fault for not paying attention, however made worse by the fact we didn’t receive any instructions about how the pick up would work and by the fact the guy that picked us up was very unfriendly. The car was in great condition except as we later found out, the tires were in terrible shape and caused us to get a flat. No one should have to check the tread on tires before they rent a car. The condition of these tires were downright unsafe, especially considering one of our passengers was a baby. We lost a day of our holiday to dealing with this flat. Admittedly not entirely Lane Auto’s fault, but very frustrating none the less. The first gentlemen we chat with from Lane Auto was quite rude and blamed us for the situation, however the owner, Mike was very kind and amenable to finding a solution. As it turns out the wheels had less tread on them than was allowable per Turo’s policy so Lane Auto was responsible for the repair. All in all a rubbish car rental experience. Luckily, Hawaii was awesome.
