It was a car that got me to point a and b. Heated up well. Good on gas.
The cons out way the pros. First off the car was not there in time. There was a blue Buick that had expired tags. I had called and he said he would be right over. Waited over an hour. Then I noticed that the cars were switched. The location was very shady. The car had a lot of scratches, and dents. And left with a mess in the inside, with cigarette ashes. And with an almost empty tank. It took him forever to respond to me. And felt disrespected for him telling me the car was there and he had proof, when I was waiting there the whole time with an expired car that was locked. With my infant son in freezing weather.
I had to wash the car, and vacuum out the car to try and get the smell out.
Renting from Dylan was probably the easiest experience I've had on Turo. As long as you follow his instructions, which are very clear, the process is smooth and simple. (If anyone's confused about the location of the parking lot, all you need to do is punch the address in Google maps and hit "navigate" and it takes you there) The car itself was in real good shape and I didn't expect to like driving the Hyundai as much as I did. I would rent from Dylan again.
My first time renting through Turo. Very good experience. Dylan was great to work with and very responsive. 2013 black (not red as on website) Buick was like new. Parking lot would be a little inconvenient if I didn't live at building next door. Overall good rental experience. I would rent this car from Dylan again.
My experience with Dylan was very smooth and easy. His Buick Verano was in great condition, I would highly recommend it and I would probably rent his car again next time I'm in town. Thanks again Dylan.
Let me begin by telling you that Dylan was over an hour late and the car wasn't in the proper spot when I got there. After talkiing to him personally, he ended up picking me up at my house himself. He drove himself home and I took the car, he said to tkae a picture of the milage, even though he was physically the last person in the car.
This was a rocky beginning, but then it got worse, the car smelled like he transpots dogs all day in it. There was garbage everywhere, sticky dried fluid in the cupholders, and general disgusting stuff everywehere. I'm not exaggeratig I spent nearly an hour detailing almost every part of it after I picked it up.
I dropped it off with more gas then it had in it, and I was early. I told dylan I cleaned it and didn't get a thank you. Which was rude.
After I dropped it off, I got a message form dylan on Turo saying "I have a starting milage of XYZ, (200 miles LESS THAN WAS ON IT WHEN I GOT IT). Then he sends me a text and says that I owe $200 some odd dollars because I was over the milage limit. And that if I didn't have proof to the contrary I owed it no questions asked.
I had the picture of the starting milage but I wanted ot see what kind of man he was. well, I said to him "dude you picked me up, how could you need the milage? YOU PERSONALLY were in the car". No reply, and he said that if I didn't have evidence to the contrary, I owed the money for the milage overage.
So I told him I had it and he was wrong, he said, "If you have it you have to upload it to Turo, both before and after the trrip". He then literally ignored me until I did it, his reply to everything was "just upload the images if you have them"
So I uploaded them, and then NOTHING. He said nothing to me after that, I got the bill from the rental WITHOUT the milage charges, and that was that.
Let me summarize, if you want a CHEAP car, that's disgustingly dirty and smells like wet dogs and BO, and you want ot not be thanked for detailing it, and you want ot be waiting for an hour after the reservation time, and finally, if you want to try to get scammed out of more money, then I reccomend Dylan for all of your needs. He is a slimebag and makes a business out of this, and lets be honest businesses maximize their profits, and that is what he does.
DONT FALL FOR THE CHEAP PRICE! HE'LL RIP YOU OFF GIVEN THE CHANCE.
I started out the trip with relaying where I was headed, a trip to MI and back to see my family. I let Dylan know that it would be about three hours there, and three hours back.
I looked at the mileage (after I arrived in Michigan, so partly my fault) and realized that this rental had 100 miles / day limit, so I reached out to Dylan letting him know my mistake and his response was that was the daily limit, a very flat response (fair enough my mistake).
The pickup was in a very odd parking lot that was hard to find off Lakeshore - GPS makes it tricky to get there, as you have to take lower wacker, you can't get there from Lakeshore. Dylan was not there to meet me to get the car, the key was left in the Console which I thought was odd. I documented milegage, gas etc. and sent it over before I set off. He replied a day later telling me to put air in the tires as they were low. Not being super familiar with car maintenance I took it to a gas station, but even after filling, the error message was still showing up. Again the message I was received was super curt.
After arriving in Chicago to return the car, I had issues finding the parking space on at the harbor. I ended up driving around for 40 minutes, and eventually texting Dylan to ask for help. He reminded me that it was off Randolph and eventually I got there, but was late dropping off the car. He again, was not there to meet me, but charged me $80 dollars for the extra mileage (I again will take blame for that), and the extra time.
I liked the idea of the app, and obviously cutting the cost of renting a car, but this experience did not do that for me - I will be sticking to the familiar car rental companies moving forward.
My overall trip went well. There was a direct key handoff from previous renter, who let me know a few things about the car that I later told Dylan. The car was in good condition and drove well. I would definitely rent from Dylan again.
This vehicle was in awful condition. It looked like it had not been cleaned in years. There was popcorn in between the seats, crumbs from some other type of food, hairballs, etc. The floor mats were caked with dry mud. Dylan seems like a nice guy and responds quickly to texts. If he gets the car cleaned I would change the review.
I needed it for work because my car was in the mechanic. The site said 1 mile but the car was about 4 miles away. He said no to delivering it to me when I found out where the car was. The car was so filthy inside and out that I had to get it washed, there was no way I could put a client in it.
Car wasn't in a very convenient location, and was pretty dirty. I was also having an issue with a passenger seat and Dylan was far from helpful....rude actually. Mileage limit was below what other vehicles generally allow. All in all I'll be looking elsewhere for my next RelayRide.
Pick up/drop off was flexible. It was very easy to get the keys.. Car was great. Make sure you know where to find the car if you don't know the LSD, lower Wacker /Randolph area well. I know the area well, so it was easy, but if you do not, plan ahead...
Dylan was very flexible on making arrangements for pickup and drop off.
The trip went really well. I utilized his vehicle for a winter getaway. Experienced some rough weather, and this Buick handled it like a champ. Super smooth luxury ride.
The only downfall was that the front right tire has a slow leak. I only had to fill it up once during the entire trip, so it was not that bad. And the only reason I realized was because of the dashboard conveniently notified me that the passenger side tire's pressure was low.
This was my worst experience with Dylan. His usual location is on E Randolph, but he had this location listed on the rental reservation. The car says it is located in Wrigleyville. I get to the address listed and there's no car. Dylan wouldn't answer texts or calls so I was stuck in Wrigleyville with no car, having made a trip up north solely to pick up the vehicle. He finally called me back after 45 minutes of me waiting in a parking garage, and he was entirely unapologetic. he says he NEVER told me the car was in Lakeview, despite every email and notification stating that it was. So I hop a red line train back to the loop, walk to his building, pick up the car and cannot get out of the parking lot because his transponder is in another of his fleet. He again would not answer as I blocked cars waiting to leave his garage. No apology, no discount, and this ended up being the last time he and I did business.
I was Dylan's most frequent renter from Fall '13 to Spring '14. I have experienced nearly all the issues other renters have expressed. The first experience was from a night when I needed a car last minute and Dylan responded right away. The car, however, had the keys locked in it from the previous renter, so he was unable to get it sorted out in time. He had me wait in a computer lab in his condo building while he sorted the problem out, unsuccessfully. Meanwhile, he had 4 other cars available that he could have swapped me in to, but refused to do so until Turo would make things right.
On that note, some times when I would pick up the vehicle he would mention how I am such a good, loyal customer and deserve a discount only to never receive one--even when mentioning it to him prior to booking a trip.
Dylan responded to my request in ten minutes, and was even polite when my girlfriend and I arrived to pick up the car fifteen minutes late. The only problem we had was that the car was a little dirtier than we expected, but nothing unsafe or gross - just some dust and drink spills. Otherwise the Dylan deserves 5 stars.
I wasn't actually able to take this trip because Dylan never showed up and didn't respond to my numerous calls or text messages until hours after my reservation was to have started.
On a previous trip with him, he mentioned that his phone doesn't get good reception in his building, so he is obviously aware of this issue. Apparently, he doesn't care enough about other peoples' plans to mark his calendar or set an alarm so he can meet people in a timely manner.
I've rented from him before with no issue, and once where he was about 15 minutes late. Blowing me off and causing me to cancel my plans for the day is inexcusable and I won't be renting from him again.
Dylan was unresponsive in the week leading up to the rental, never responding to any questions on the site or through text. I figured he just didn't want to answer but all would be well. On the day of the rental, i tried to get in touch from 9-10AM for my 10AM rental. He had slept in and no one including the staff at Turo could reach him. 30 minutes after the rental was supposed to start, he calls me and tells me his phone was broken. Long story short I get the car a full hour after I had asked for it.
The car was in fine and returning it was easy. But a little communication would have been nice. I ended up being late for my interview and for that, 1 star.
We picked up the car after a bit of self-imposed anxiety! The car ran great. Advertised at satellite radio and it did have it but no subscription so couldn't tune any SiriusXM but we did just fine with Chicago FM stations. East return at a late hour.
I rented from him twice, several days for each time, he provides nothing but the best service, communication, and patience.
He is the first person I rented from on Relay, he assisted me when i was on-road and I wanted to extend my rental, he was patience when i got stuck in traffic and get to him late (this is not excuse for others to do it, just to clarify how professional he is), dropped me off the bus station after the rental.
He is fast to respond too! and Don't forget, his Buicks are new and clean, for the best rate you will find here.
I was completely satisfied and I will rent from him again next time i need a nicer car.
I had a troublesome experience picking up the car and then it was the most terrible experience when I had to return. Ryan never picked up my call, every time I tried to reach him, he would not pick my call and sometimes he would call back himself. He made me wait around 30 minutes when picking up the car as he was shopping in the grocery store nearby. Then during return, he asked me to be at his place and when I reached the building, he just disappeared completely. I waited for over 1 hour. I messaged him at least 15 times, called 20 times, left so many voice messages, the building security called him - and he never answered anybody. I finally parked the car inside his building, and gave keys to building security.
Although car was fine, it was not cleaned properly and had a dent just above the left front wheel. Ryan took a picture of it before handing car keys to me. It seemed he rents multiple cars regularly and messes up one renter with another one. My personal experience was pretty pathetic. I was very dissatisfied. Honestly, I don't want to give even 1 star.
If you are going to rent from him, make sure he responds to your calls and arrange for car drop that does not involve him personally.
Car was okay and Dylan quite flexible considering my flight into O'Hare was delayed in arrival. I would not recommend this if flying into O'Hare. If picking up and returning in the City, it is an awesome idea and highly recommended.
Was initially bothered by the cracked windshield, however, my girl really wanted the Beamer. I was also surprised that the car was dirty. Overall, I didn't think that the car was ready for us. Despite that the oil engine light kept coming on. The car served our purpose.
I would rate this vehicle very good! The pickup was convenient as well as drop off. Dylan is very professional and prompt at responding to your concerns. I would definitely love to rent from him again.
Dylan was great to work with. He answered our questions quickly and helped us through the process. We rented two cars from him as there were 9 of us and everything went smoothly from beginning to end. This was our first time using Turo and we would do it again based on our experience with Dylan. It worked perfectly for our situation and it couldn't have gone any better, thanks to Dylan.
Dylan was great to work with. The car rental worked wonderfully for us. We only needed to rent cars for half a day to get to an evening event that was 45 minutes away. I found Turo on the internet and decided to check into it. I asked Dylan about his vehicles and he helped us through the whole process. He responded immediately to my questions and concerns. Everything from beginning to end went smoothly. We couldn't have had a better experience.

Dylan was great! I made the reservation and within minutes he responded (unlike others who took more than 5 hours to respond). He had a selection of cars and I picked the Black Buick and it was a great ride. Dylan was punctual and professional. He even offered to give me a ride back to my home. I definitely recommend Dylan and if needed, I will definitely contact him to rent a car!
