Absolutely terrible and unacceptable experience w Turo. I spent a few days in Seattle before our trip to Spokane to take my daughter to college. I attempted to rent 2 vehicles w no response. That was a 24 hr delay, frustrating and stressful but I can deal w that. Then I found the book immediately option and rented a vehicle. The next day the owner messaged me that the car had been rear ended. Again frustrating but shit happens! I called customer service a couple times and someone was supposed to return my call and never did. I was also supposed to receive a credit for the next vehicle I rented and never did. The next vehicle I attempted to rent was an absolute disaster! I messaged the owner several times via the Turo app w no response. His phone # and address had been released after my rental was confirmed so I txt him several times w no return response. I then called him and was able to reach him via phone. I was happy to have reached him and was calling to confirm and told me that the vehicle was not available til the end of the month. He also said he hadn't confirmed my rental. I told him that the reservation had been confirmed as his car was listed as a rent immediately option. At this point panic was setting in as I had no car and was supposed to be leaving to Spokane the next morning. The car rental agencies had nothing in my area but I was lucky enough to find a car 35 min away through enterprise. I had to Uber there and back upon my return which was over $100. I emailed Turo telling them about my experience and they sent me a generic automated response to my dismay. Then to top it off they charged my credit card $560 plus $72!!! I am so disgusted w this company! If they are the middle man for important transactions they should manage these correctly and professionally. I have tried to reach them to dispute the charges to no avail. I now have to dispute the charges w my cc company which is additional time and stress. I am outraged that this company does not value their customers. They forget both the customer and the service in the industry that they are in. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE and I will NEVER do business w them again not refer any business to them.
