I've rented to Brandon before, and he was very nice and courteous the first time. The second time he rented, the car came back with damage to the rear hatch (~$1000) and major scratches to the window. Not a huge problem, things happen.
Because Brandon's deductible was $2000 and Turo would charge him the full $2000 for the damage, I agreed to save him the extra money by trying to settle things between us. We worked out a deal and fixed the window scratches (~$75) in a timely fashion, and I was satisfied with that outcome.
However, during the rest of the process to fix the dents in the rear hatch, Brandon has had extremely poor communication. He's been totally unresponsive and won't communicate for weeks at a time, and when he does, he hasn't made any progress towards getting my car fixed. He's claimed extenuating circumstances, but that that doesn't mean you just ignore someone for weeks at a time or don't give a heads up.
After over 5 months of being patient, I'm no closer to getting the damage fixed, and he hasn't even laid out a timeline for when he can pay for the damage, something he said he'd do 4 months ago. I got so frustrated I decided to settle this with Turo directly. I definitely won't rent to him again.
