It was over a decade ago. I was 17 and wanting to drive every nice luxury, and sports car that I’ve thought of. It started off one day back in 2007 where I took my sisters white 2007 Dodge Charger. I took it without permission, not a joy ride. But more of a 5 minute run to a friend’s place and back. During that trip had a call from my father telling me to return my sisters car. Out of anger I was really disappointed that I couldn’t even borrow a relative’s car without getting in trouble. So I made a U turn, returned back home and thought to myself why, why can’t we all get along. Why can’t we, as family members, friends, let each other borrow each other’s car if we were not able to afford one, at 17 years I had no job so it was impossible. After that day I told myself one day, one day I will buy me the vehicles I love and can afford and allow friends, family to drive them without overthinking how bad I was hurt that day. We are all one, I’m a great believer of “what are we to live here without being kind to each other”. What are we to go day by day and not be kind to one another? As years pass I started collecting cars, out of passion. Hek I have a MINI Cooper that I drive maybe once a summer. At times I would get calls from my friends, saying can I borrow one of your cars, I have a meeting or wedding to attend. I, being the person I have become after realizing how bad a “NO” from a family member can affect a person, said sure, just let me know before had. And of course no one is perfect so I would sometimes get a car back with a flat tire, scratches on a window, and mechanical issues, and I would fix them out of my expense. I was introduced to Turo, and thought to myself let’s give this a try. Now after 30+ trips as a beginner have given many people the experience of driving a car they love, from Detroit, Michigan to people flying to visit from the west, and there is no need to worry about the vehicles, because I believe when someone pays for something they take good care of it, thank you for keeping me in business.
